647 students in grades 5 and 6 of nine primary schools learn how to prevent risks Lorca (18/05/2010)

The Councillor for Education, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, and Director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the Autonomous Community, Thomas Fuentes, prizes are awarded to top ten among the 279 drawings submitted to the contest

The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, and the Director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the Autonomous Community, Tomás Pérez Fuentes, have delivered this morning's awards Campaign School Risk Prevention "Safety Grows ", in which 647 students have participated throughout the municipality.

Under this initiative, and Fuentes Peñarrubia especially recognized the work of ten students in grades 5 and 6 of primary school with her drawings conveying the main concepts of risk prevention.

Specifically, they have been awarded a digital camera to each of the three first prizes of this contest, mp4 to each of the three second prizes and four digital keychains to the following recipients.

Of a total of 279 drawings submitted to the contest from 9 participating schools have been awarded in this academic year 2009-2010 students Bayonas Victor Diaz (CEIP San Fernando), Irene García Soto (CEIP Purias), Sergio Martinez Sanchez (CEIP Almendricos ), Blanca Sánchez Ayala (CEIP Andrés García Soler), E. Bayron

Delgado Alvia (CEIP José Robles), Alba Romero Lázaro (CEIP Villaespesa), José Alejandro Martínez López (CEIP Campillo), Soufiane Aunba (CEIP Casa del Niño), Esther During Flores (CEIP Torrecilla) and John Munuera Quiñonero (CEIP Purias).

The campaign, financed through grants by the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) training in measures intended to prevent children from 10 to 12 years and the program includes, besides the contest drawing, talks to teachers and students in schools, extending also for the first year, social networks, creating a channel and a Facebook event (http://www.facebook.com/creceenseguridad), the students and teachers can add up.

The Councillor for Education stressed that "this activity is part of the comprehensive program of extracurricular activities organized by the City Council to supplement the training of students from the municipality."

Peñarrubia said "with this campaign we want to spread the benefits of preventive action, among students enrolled in the studies cited, for both present and future when they enter the labor market, are aware of the advantages of thorough knowledge of the action to perform, the monitoring of risks that may arise in order to eliminate at their source or prevent these accidents are updated through the adoption of preventive measures. "

The council has stated that "the aim of this school year, is to instill in children in primary education, basic concepts in prevention in a playful way, and thus understand the obligation of all to enforce the rules on prevention, in Three key areas of socialization: school, family and neighborhood. "
