The PSOE proposes a package of measures to combat climate change and protect natural resources from the municipality (03/06/2010)

On the occasion of the celebration next day 5 of the World Environment Day, the Socialist councilor Paquita Lopez issued a package of proposals aimed at combating climate change and protecting natural resources from the municipality.

To do this, Lopez asked to create and implement a program to disseminate best practices of responsible consumption of natural resources, especially in the field of education.

Thus, Lee proposed to the City Council to organize activities and workshops for school children with the aim of raising awareness among children of the municipality on the real value of water and the importance of responsible drinking.

These activities could be carried out visits to treatment plants of municipal drinking water to meet the systems that make the purification, its operation and the path follows the water around her cycle.

In addition, complementary, could be envisaged various entertainment activities and fun-training workshops related to water and recycling, aimed at raising awareness of the new generations in preserving the environment.

Also considered necessary Lopez free distribution of water saving all schoolchildren in the municipality, "with which could save up to 50% on individual consumption of each tap in their homes."

The socialist council also proposed the implementation of the "Target 30%" in the use of renewable energy and reducing emissions.

In this regard López built on the need for the City Council implement a strategy for the energy consumption of installations, offices and public transport is supplied by renewable energy by at least 30%.

The PSOE also requested the installation of ecological islands in all districts, as well as increase the number of deposits for batteries.

Also order the use of recycled water for irrigation of parks and gardens and urban sanitation.
