The PSOE presents allegations to ADIF to achieve an integral burial of the AVE that does not punish the area of San Diego, Apolonia and Avenida de Europa (03/05/2018)

The Socialists reject with totality the plans of the Ministry of Development and the Government of Rajoy to split the city in two with the passage of the roads on the surface through the neighborhoods of Apolonia, Avenida de Europa and San Diego to the river.

They consider an "irreparable historical error" that the Government of Mariano Rajoy, with the complicity of the mayor and the municipal government team of the PP, will execute a screening that will isolate these neighborhoods forever and mortgage their urban, economic and social future.

From the PSOE insists on the need for an integral burial in 4.3 km.

save the entire urban area of the city and not the 1.9 expected.

The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, David Romera, reported that the PSOE de Lorca has submitted to the Ministry of Development and ADIF a set of allegations against the planned screening of the Mediterranean Railway Corridor in its access to the town of Lorca through the neighborhoods of Apolonia , Avenida de Europa and San Diego to the river Guadalentín.

The Socialists "reject with total rotundity" that in the project of High Speed Line between Murcia and Almeria in the stretch between Sangonera and Lorca, at the moment in the public information phase, the construction of a platform on the surface on the that there will be two electrified and shielded roads that will support a continuous traffic of passenger trains (Cercanías, Media Distancia and AVE) as well as freight trains, which besides generating a barrier that will be impassable in the future by preventing any urban expansion, will cause continuous discomfort to the neighborhood in the form of noise and vibrations.

Romera believes that the visit made to Lorca on April 23 the Minister of Development, "made it clear the true intention that the PP has to integrate the railway in the city" and is "to make a partial burial, insufficient to cover the needs of Lorca, burial that has a real length of 1.9 kilometers (channel Guadalentín-school Ana Caicedo) plus ramps access to the tunnel, "which will leave" half of the city blocked at its ends "

It is reiterated that from the PSOE "we consider the 4.3 kilometers distant between Apolonia and the departure of the Aguilas Autovía to save the entire urban area of the city and not mortgage their future", something that is demanded by the whole of the Lorca society.

The socialist mayor states that "the PP punishes the residents of the neighborhoods of San Diego, Avenida de Europa and Apolonia because it is not contemplated in this urban area the burying of the tracks and their maintenance on the surface and with screens", being constrained forever between the foothills of the Sierra de Tercia and the railway corridor, remembering that in this district, which includes Rio, San Cristóbal and Los Angeles, more than 20,000 people reside.

David Romera describes as "irreparable historical error" what the Ministry of Development, with the complicity of the mayor and the municipal government team, plans to execute in the access of the rail corridor to Lorca.

Therefore, the first measure that has been taken from the Socialist Group "to prevent the construction of a barrier wall that will isolate these slums forever," is the preparation of a battery of allegations addressed to the Ministry of Development to "occur the total redefinition of the project in the area between Apolonia and the Guadalentín riverbed so that the projected surface routes are buried "and consequently channeling a quality urban expansion that generates a new city, more comfortable, with more green areas and greater quality of life for Lorca.

In this way, the Socialists are going to ask the Ministry of Development to proceed to the burial of the roads in the 900 meters between the Villaespesa Road (page 247,400), near the intersection of the current road with the future Central Round prior restitution of the initial high pass, and the Felipe VI Sports Complex (page 248,300) so that the tracks continue underground to Sutullena, saving the Guadalentín channel.

"In this way," the socialist mayor concludes, "the urban, economic and social future of the neighborhoods of San Diego, Avenida de Europa and Apolonia is guaranteed, in the face of the pretensions of Development, which, far from the necessary integral burial, proposes to leave half city blocked without burying. "

"If the PP of Lorca is satisfied with this solution obviously partial and insufficient in a position folded to the guidelines of Madrid, from the PSOE of Lorca is going to continue claiming the integral burial of 4.3 kilometers of roads compared to 1.9 expected. "
