PSOE: "The PP cuts in health maintain Lorca and health area III leading the longest waiting times in the Region" (04/05/2018)

Area III of health continues to be the area of the entire Region with the longest waiting time to be attended in the first consultation, standing at 103.75 days on average, 35 days longer than the regional average.

In addition, 36% of the total number of patients waiting without an assigned appointment from the entire Region belong to area III

The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sanchez has ensured that the information provided by the Ministry of Health on the waiting times in public health again highlight the "serious situation" in which area III is located of health, by the policy of job precariousness, of sanitary cuts and of dismantling of Rafael Méndez that continues applying the Popular Party.

The data continues confirming that for the government of Lopez Miras Lorca there are first-class hospitals and second-class hospitals, and with it, first-class citizens and second-class citizens.

Given this, Sanchez Jódar again ask Gil Jódar "what happens that it does not hurt that the Regional Government of his party offers its neighbors in Lorca the worst health care in the entire region."

Despite the slight improvement in waiting times, the data provided by the Ministry once again show that area III of health continues to be the area of the entire Region where the longest wait times are recorded for the first Specialist consultation.

Specifically, users of Area III expect, on average, 103.75 days;

35 more than what the rest of the citizens of the Murcia Region expect.

Regarding other areas, Lorca wait up to 75 days longer than what a user can expect from the Reina Sofía hospital, in Murcia, and that it covers a similar population as Rafael Méndez.

This aspect shows again the "serious fracture", in terms of human and technical resources that there are different public hospitals within the same Autonomous Community.

In addition, by specialties, the data recorded in Dermatology confirm what was already denounced a few weeks ago the mayor of the PSOE.

The lack of physicians in the specialty of dermatology (currently, Rafael Méndez only has one of the three that had) has caused a rebound in the number of patients waiting without a date for this specialty, from 3,708, in December from 2017, to 4,213 at present.
