This Fair, organized by the Department of Health of the City of Lorca, along with other entities, aims to promote specific habits of our lifestyle that contribute to improving our health.
It will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has opened this morning the XI edition of the Fair "Healthy Lorca" that will be developed in the Alameda de la Constitución from today until May 12.
The Healthy Fair organized by this area of ​​municipal management, together with other entities, sets the objective of promoting healthy habits for our lifestyle that contribute to improving our health, wellbeing and physical condition.
Fulgencio Gil has indicated that "the programming that is planned to take place during May 10, 11 and 12 pivots on 3 fundamental issues such as the incorporation of healthy food into our usual diet, increased physical activity and acquisition healthy behavior habits These three concepts have, in turn, a backbone that acts as a common line and is the fact of having new prevention tools to combat one of the major health problems that are facing the modern society the outstanding increase in the rates of overweight and obesity among the population ".
The Mayor of Lorca said that "the Healthy Lorca Fair XI, which as it was done last year for the first time, is developed in the Alameda de la Constitución and will have a total of 23 exhibitors belonging to different commercial firms, health, sports and nutrition of the municipality. "
The enabled enclosure will be the scene of workshops of healthy feeding, with the celebration of healthy breakfasts and snacks in which collectives and associations will participate, the healthy breakfast-ciclobatidora for students of 1 ° and 2 ° of Primary, workshop Dismantling myths in food, taught by María del Carmen Méndez and Mercedes Sirvent (dieticians-nutritionists), workshop of healthy snacks for healthy grandchildren, aimed at the group of elderly people, as well as a cooking workshop for children that Mireia Ruiz, contestant of Masterchef will perform.
The XI Healthy Lorca Fair will also include prevention actions against drug consumption with the participation of ESO students, who will have the opportunity to learn about the harmful effects of alcohol on road safety and the loss they cause in driving.
For this they will have glasses that simulate the effects against driving and the capacity caused by the intake of drinks of this type.
Gil has indicated that "as habit to fight sedentary lifestyle, different outdoor sessions of sports activities will be held, as will be the case of Zumba Kids, Strong, Jump, Intensity training, Step, Cycle Class as well as exhibitions of karate kyokushin WKB ".
The NGOs that are going to participate in this Fair thanks to the transfer of speakers by the Department of Health are the Association of Mental Ill (Asofem), Association of Parents of Early Care, AEMA III, Parkinson, Spanish Association Against Cancer, Voices Amigas de la Esperanza Association and Women's Federation.
The First Edil has announced that "thanks to the involvement of the exhibitors who will meet in this edition, all citizens who wish have the opportunity to perform various health tests such as measuring blood pressure, blood sugar (glycemia), lung capacity (spirometry), nutritional advice, levels of hearing and vision, rapid determination of blood group, body mass index, informative consultations of nursing and nutritional medicine, stress tests, antismoking program of the Ministry of Health with co-oximetry, oral hygiene, among others ".
The exhibition hall will open its doors at 10:30 in the morning, remaining available until 2:00 p.m.
The afternoon schedule will be from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. "
