The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has affirmed that the commitment expressed by the President of the Regional Government, Fernando López Miras, announcing that the CARM assumes the full financing that will allow building the third section of the Central Round, constitutes a definite boost for sign the great project in terms of communications infrastructure that Lorca have been demanding for decades.

In fact we will have the large avenue for the transit of vehicles that we needed, which will significantly reduce traffic through the streets of the urban area, since it provides a convenient, safe and efficient alternative to cross the city without having to cross it.

The Mayor explained that we are talking about an action whose bidding project reaches 10.7 million.

This intervention will allow continuity to the recently completed Section IV, with similar type sections, adapted to the new urban conditions.

It will join the mentioned Section IV, in the new roundabout of Vallecas, on the other end with Section II.

Almost at the end of the section a roundabout is contemplated next to the popular Tocinos bridge, shoulders and 2 lanes of 5 m, to resolve the encounter with Section II (which will cross the Guadalentín River), with the extension of Avda. Santa Clara, with the Streets that give access to the Huerto de la Rueda and the new Fairground / Auditorium and "Poeta Gimeno Castellar", which connects with the urban center.

With the new roundabout the Tocinos bridge becomes unnecessary and involves its demolition.

The construction project of the Lorca South Central Evacuation Track, in Section III, involves the creation of a new road with two lanes in each direction, a service road parallel to it and the execution of sidewalks and bike lanes throughout the layout

We proceed to use the space occupied by the Tiata channel to lift the route of the new road, after diversion and replacement of the existing services under the bed and the filling of it to the level of the margins.

It will have 2 vials per direction of 3.5 m width and shoulder of 0.5 m, separated by a median of, minimum, 1 m wide, as well as service lanes of 3.5 m in one of the margins, separated from the fast vials by a median of 1 m wide.

This action envisages the incorporation of a 3 m bike lane on the left bank, in addition to the complete rearrangement of sidewalks, green areas and parking on both sides.

To give constructive homogeneity to the entire Evacuation Route, the same types of sidewalk and cycle lane of Section IV already executed are adopted, which will be formed respecting the same aesthetic in sidewalks, road sections and service roads.

An installation of public lighting is envisaged, which involves improving the management of energy efficiency and lighting levels with respect to the roads and illuminated areas currently and in accordance with the new layout designed and in continuity with the Ronda section and executed.

To this end, new 4, 6, 10 and 12 m staffs will be installed with point-to-point tele management, LED-type luminaires (approximate light points 170 ud), with new control panels.

The total area of new landscaped areas amounts to 3,970 m2 with the addition of 261 new trees, 4,031 shrubs of various species, 1,100 m2 of natural grass and 2,480 m2 of artificial turf.

The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, announced today an investment of 10 million euros to execute the third section of the Central Round of Lorca, infrastructure that will decongest the center of the city allowing the evacuation of some 20,000 vehicles per day.
