López Miras announces an investment of 10 million to execute the third section of the Central Round of Lorca (10/05/2018)

On the eve of the anniversary of the earthquakes, López Miras highlights the "effort and commitment of Lorca to raise this new Lorca where the total investment will reach 1,200 million euros"

The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, announced today an investment of 10 million euros to execute the third section of the Central Round of Lorca, infrastructure that will decongest the center of the city allowing the evacuation of some 20,000 vehicles per day.

Of that amount, seven million are contributed by the Community and three million by the Lorca City Council.

The total execution of the Central Round is a global investment of 33 million euros, explained López Miras to questions from journalists on the eve of the seventh anniversary of the earthquakes in Lorca, whose reconstruction is making an investment that will reach 1.2 billion of euros "that are being allocated to people, the reconstruction of neighborhoods and homes, improvements in roads, as well as direct aid to those affected by earthquakes," said the president.

He recalled that more than 16,000 files of different types of aid have been processed, representing more than 80 million euros already granted to those affected.

In short, he stressed, "during these years we are seeing how the Lorca are putting their best to raise the city and make it better than it was, with determination, effort, work and commitment."

"And the best thing is that the reconstruction of this new Lorca does not stop and that this year will continue to advance," said Lopez Miras, who said that in 2018 they will invest 60 million euros more for the remodeling of neighborhoods, repair of roads and the second phase of the Santa Quiteria fairgrounds.

In addition, indicated that in the coming days "we will inaugurate the neighborhood of Los Angeles-Apolonia and Juan Carlos I Avenue, and in the coming months we will also inaugurate the neighborhood of San Fernando, the Alameda de Cervantes, Santa Quiteria and the neighborhood of San Cristobal".

The Central Round of Lorca will have a total length of 4.4 kilometers that will run from the N-340a until linking by the west with the highway RM-11 (Autovía de Águilas).

The total investment exceeds 33 million euros, of which the regional government contributes 23.5 million and the City Council 10 million.
