The restaurant La Cepa receives the award for Best Tapa of the I Ruta + Broccoli held between March 9 and 18 in twenty local Lorca (18/05/2018)

The Councilor for Health and Commerce of the City of Lorca, Mari Carmen Ruiz Jódar, along with the President of Hostelor, Jesús Abellaneda, and the President of the Association + Broccoli, Luis Jiménez, have handed out the prizes of the I Ruta + Broccoli held between 9 and March 18 in different catering establishments in Lorca.

The delivery has been held in the restaurant La Cepa.

Ruiz recalled that "this route was organized to promote through gastronomy one of the star vegetables of local and regional agriculture such as broccoli, which involved 21 tapas made by locals from Lorca who have presented very diverse proposals around this food. "

The award for the Best Cover of the I Route + Broccoli has been awarded to the cover offered by the restaurant La Cepa: broccoli pellet stuffed on spicy crumbs.

The participants in the I Ruta + Broccoli voted through an application to choose the winning tapa and to choose different prizes offered by the members of Hostelor y + Broccoli.

Specifically, they have raffled, among other awards, a hotel night on the coast of Almeria for 2 people courtesy of Viajes Mercurio;

dinners at the Parador Castillo de Lorca, Cervecería Las Columnas, Pizzeria D'Antojo and Taberna la Cepa;

spa bonuses for 2 people courtesy of the Parador Castillo de Lorca and books of great chefs and broccoli donated by the Association + Broccoli.

After the award ceremony, the chef of the Cabaña Buenavista restaurant, with two Michelin stars, Pablo González-Conejero, has offered a master class in La Cepa to all the attendees, who have had the opportunity to enjoy the tricks and advice of this recognized chef from Murcia as a finishing touch to the initiative.

The non-profit association + Broccoli aims to increase the consumption of broccoli and raise awareness about its beneficial effects on health.

It brings together farmers, marketers, researchers, nutritionists, restaurateurs and all those related entities and people interested in spreading the benefits of this cruciferous cataloged as "super vegetable" by the CEBAS-CSIC.
