The Local Development Councilor of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, presented this morning a new phase of the Youth Employment Project Lorca in which 120 young people under 30, unemployed and enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System will receive training in 14 specialties .
The Program is subsidized by the European Social Fund, within the framework of the Youth Employment Operative Program, aimed at the sustainable integration of young people in the labor market.
Sandra Martinez stressed that "we are talking about a range of courses designed to cover the interests of young people from Lorca who want to obtain training for the development of their professional activity." The Municipal Executive is committed to promoting the training of young unemployed Lorca , while stimulating the movement of the labor market of our municipality with the challenge of consolidating the generation of new jobs that contribute to continue improving the evolution of employment ".
The Local Development Councilor has indicated that "the 14 new courses have a duration between 3 and 8 months, depending on the specialty in question, and students will receive a grant of € 200 per month." The specialties are the following:
Auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and gardening centers
Plumbing
Maintenance of spaces and public roads
Auxiliary operations of assembly and maintenance of microcomputer systems
Restoration of furniture, gold and polychrome
Auxiliary Services of Hairdressing
Basic operations of Restaurant-Bar
Basic kitchen operations
Informatic security
Arrangements and adaptations of garments and textile and leather articles
Trade Dependent
Office Assistant
Administrative and General Services

Martínez added that "in addition to the specific training in the chosen specialty, they will receive training in subjects such as English, new technologies, gender equality and basic training (for those students who have not completed ESO studies). complete with the realization of workshops of active search of employment and labor practices in companies ".
The Local Development Council has indicated that "for the development of the project there is a technical team composed of 6 employment technicians, 4 teachers of basic training, 2 English teachers and 1 teacher of new technologies, plus the instructors who teach the specific training ".

The program called "Young Employment Lorca", which aims to strengthen the employability and professional skills of young people in our municipality that currently have no employment.
We are talking about an initiative that will involve a direct investment for the improvement of the labor market in Lorca estimated at 1,873,453 euros.
Specifically, the European Social Fund contributes 1,721,516 euros through the subsidy, while the municipal contribution reaches 151,937 euros.
