The Councilor for Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, together with the Coordinator of the Center of Lorca of the Cepaim Foundation, Puri Piñero, has closed this morning the "Basic Linguistic Competencies for Job Search Course" organized by the Foundation Cepaim and the Coordinator of Organizations of Farmers and Cattle Ranchers (COAG) in collaboration with the Lorca Consistory.
Fátima Mínguez pointed out that "this course is part of the New Paths Program, which aims at the social and labor integration of immigrants in unpopulated rural areas of Spain." In our municipality, the rural environment treasures an important natural heritage, landscape and culture that generates a series of opportunities that can favor processes of social inclusion and that can contribute to the dynamization and socioeconomic development of rural communities ".
The Councilor for Social Welfare has indicated that "the workshop was aimed at 15 immigrants who do not speak the language, its main purpose being to improve the linguistic skills of migrants who are undertaking a socio-work orientation itinerary to improve active search for It has lasted 40 hours and has been carried out at the Local Development Center during the morning hours, allowing flexible hours to favor the family and personal conciliation of the participants ".
Mínguez added that "it is a totally practical course, in which we have worked the Spanish level of conversation, writing and reading comprehension focused on everyday situations and mainly related to the work environment and other spaces and realities in which we we develop day-to-day: health center, training centers, traffic signs, shops, reading letters and institutional notifications, among others ".
The Coordinator of the Center of Lorca Cepaim Foundation, meanwhile, stressed that "the general objective of this and all courses that are carried out throughout the year in a coordinated manner from Cepaim is to provide participants of the necessary skills in Spanish to improve their employability, specifically in the agri-food sector, thus increasing their chances of entering the labor market, either on their own account or on behalf of others. "
