The Councilor for Environment of the City of Lorca, Satur Martinez, presented this morning the broad program of activities organized by the Lorca Consistory along with other local entities to commemorate the World Environment Day to be held on June 5 in more than 100 countries simultaneously and this year is carried out under the slogan "A planet #SinContaminacionporplasticos".
Satur Martinez noted that "World Environment Day, was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations in the year 1972 coinciding with the first world summit on the environment, commemorates the importance of environmental conservation for human development and aims to promote actions and raise awareness throughout the global community on issues of environmental care.For this reason, the City of Lorca is promoting care and awareness by all entities of the importance of the care of the environment ".
The Councilor for the Environment has indicated that "the Lorca Consistory has scheduled from today until next Friday a week full of activities related to this issue and in which various agencies of the municipality such as Limusa, Hostelor, Union of Merchants of Lorca, Comarcal TV, Lorca Taller del Tiempo, Municipal Library Network, General Directorate of Natural Environment and the Proyecto Abraham Foundation ".

Martínez also added that "the Merchants Union of Lorca is sensitized and aware to customers and users of a responsible use of bags, replacing plastic bags with other recyclable materials." The merchant is being informed about the obligation to this restriction of use, as well as the collection of the same from customers and work is being done to provide aid to businesses to obtain reusable bags that can be offered to buyers ".
The Environment Minister stressed that "the Municipal Executive shares the vision of a sustainable future, within the city project that is being developed in Lorca thanks to the common effort of every society."
