The XXI Theater School Contest will offer 11 theater plays starring more than 300 Lorca students (01/06/2018)

The War Theater will host on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 June the functions carried out by 8 Primary Education centers.

The honorable mention of this edition will be given to the team of theater workers for their dedication and performance to this Contest

The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, and Agustin Pinilla, representative of the Obra Social "La Caixa" in Lorca, have presented the XXI School School Competition of the municipality to be held on the next Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 June in the Guerra Theater.

Montiel recalled that "every year this event seeks to publicize the theatrical work developed by the Lorca schoolchildren through their educational centers.This contest rewards their effort and interest in the world of the scene, giving them the opportunity to act in the oldest theater in the Region of Murcia, and one of the most spectacular, such as the War, during these two days we will enjoy 11 performances featuring 300 Lorca students from 8 different schools. "

The program will start on Monday, June 4 at 6 pm with the official opening, to later perform 7 performances throughout the afternoon.

The first actors to get on the tables will be the students of CEIP San Cristóbal, who will perform the play "Una Historia de Juguete" whose authors with Mª Ángeles Serrano Romero, Celia Agüera Jódar and Mª Carmen Marín Giménez, corresponding the direction to the latter.

After this performance will come the turn of the first group representing the CEIP Zarcilla de Ramos with the work "The Julian Frog" whose author is Isabel Tapiador, while the address is borne by Rosa de Lima Mellado Gris.

The next work to be performed, also by actors of the CEIP Zarcilla de Ramos, will be more classic: "The three sons of the King", inspired by an account of the medieval classic "El Conde Lucanor" by the Infante Don Juan Manuel and also directed by Rosa de Lima Mellado Gris, who will triplet when directing the last work of this center, "Las dos hadas y la gran wand" by Luis Matilla.

The fourth work to be represented on the tables of the War will be an adaptation of "Don Quixote de la Mancha" written and directed by Inma Guillén and interpreted by the students of the CEIP Alfonso X. Next the students of the CEIP Juan González will put on the tables the "Things of boys and girls" by Silvina Carrasco and directed by CEPAIM Lorca and Pilar Perán.

The afternoon will end with another group of actors from Juan González, who will represent the collective creation work "Bulling Escolar" also directed by CEPAIM and Pilar Perán.

The day of Tuesday will also begin at 6:00 p.m.

The first work, interpreted by the students of the CEIP José Robles, will be a classic of Children's Literature as "La ratita presumida" by Charles Perrault, under the direction of Mª Isabel Esteban Fernández.

"The smile of the lion" will be interpreted by schoolchildren of the CEIP Virgen de las Huertas;

it is a work of Editorial SM directed by Ana Belén Pérez Olmo.

The third performance will be in charge of the students of CEIP Almendricos who will represent "Pinky, the goblin of books", the work of María José Artero and Carmen Loli Ruano, directed by the first.

The last work to be represented will be "A life full of inventions", written and directed by Silvia Díaz Gómez and interpreted by the students of CEIP Villaespesa.

At 8:00 pm the closing ceremony will be held.

In the first place, the traditional honorable mention of the School Theater Competition will be awarded, which this year will fall to the team of workers of the Guerra Theater in recognition of the dedication and performance of the same.

Next, the diplomas and participation plates will be given to the participating children and schools.

Montiel wanted to "congratulate the actors, the directors and the centers for promoting this great theatrical event that is an invitation to enjoy the interpretation and the illusion that the young students from Lorca bring." We also have to thank the Work Social "La Caixa" because one more year they collaborate in a determined way to finance it and make it possible ".
