Lorca consolidates his university profile with the development of two courses at the Universidad del Mar in which the latest advances in early care and sports will be addressed (07/06/2018)

It is about "The future of physical education: towards teacher efficiency" and "Early attention in the 21st century: foundation and intervention methodologies", which will be developed in the auditorium of the University Campus of our city.

The Conejales of Culture and Sports in the City Council of Lorca, Agustín Llamas and Juan Miguel Bayonas, together with the director Universidad Internacional del Mar, Mercedes Bernabé Pérez, and the Co-Directors of the courses called "The future of physical education: towards teacher efficiency ", and" Early attention in the 21st century: foundation and intervention methodologies ", Antonio García de Alcaraz and Mª Isabel Casbas, respectively, have presented this morning the courses that will be developed in our city framed in the offer of the International University of the Sea, dependent of the University of Murcia.

We are talking about two seminars that have been consolidated throughout the last years in our city.

The first to be developed will be related to early care, which will take place from July 16 to 20 in the auditorium of the University Campus of Lorca.

It will have a duration of 25 hours, a total of 80 places and can be enrolled in it all those interested in taking it up to a week before its start.

This course has as main objectives that the student knows what are the methodological foundations and the conceptual framework on which Early Attention is based, the development of this sector at the state level and how the interdisciplinary intervention is carried out on which it is based.

To this end, various theoretical-practical workshops will be presented and an intervention aimed at the child, the family and the environment will be proposed to promote child development and prevent alterations in it, from the different disciplines that are part of Early Care.

We are talking about a course aimed at University Graduates in: Psychology, Psychopedagogy, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medicine.

Students of the aforementioned degrees and people interested in the subject.

The specialists responsible for its delivery are Dr. Julio Pérez, Professor in Early Care, member of the Department of Evolutionary Psychology and Education of the University of Murcia, along with Dr. Francisco Javier Fernández, pediatric physiotherapist of the Fina Navarro CDIAT and Associate Professor of Department of Physiotherapy of the University of Murcia, in addition, of Mª Isabel Casbas, Psychologist and Director of the CDIAT Fina Navarro, and Laura Murcia Guilabert, Pediatric physiotherapist CDIAT Fina Navarro López of the mentioned center.

The main issues that will be addressed are the importance of primary prevention in early care, learning and neuroplasticity, sensory disorders, new intervention technologies in the field of physiotherapy, as well as interventions aimed at the upper extremity.

The second of the courses, entitled "The future of physical education: towards teacher efficiency" will also have as a celebration framework the University Campus Assembly Hall, presenting a total duration of 25 hours and extending its capacity to 150 students.

It should be noted in this regard that there is currently a concern with the new pedagogical challenges of a changing society, with a clear influence from new technologies.

This course tries to approach this question and represents an ideal meeting point for professionals and students, in pursuit of a reflection and improvement of the personal and professional competences necessary for the development of the teaching function.

The subject of the course focuses on the analysis, development and implementation of new methodological approaches related to Physical Education.

The blocks related to sports teaching styles and innovative methodological proposals will be addressed in detail, as well as the healthy habits of children and adolescents

The activity is aimed at teachers of Primary, Secondary and University Education centers, already Graduates / Graduates and students in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Educational Sciences, and related studies such as Psychology, Psychopedagogy, Social Education ... and any person interested in the subject.

The aim is to create a forum for exchange and learning among professionals (or future professionals) in the field of education, with a special focus on Education.

The main issues that are planned to address are those related to Physical Education and Information and Communication Technologies, as well as physical exercise focused on improving health and new teaching methodologies.

This initiative is directed by Drs. Antonio García de Alcaraz (Isabel I University) and Enrique Ortega Toro (University of Murcia), and it is developed under the coordination of Dr. Apolonia Pilar Albarracín, and professors Juan Ignacio Beltrán, Miguel Franco, Narciso Marín, Juan Ortuño, Juan Bautista Rosa, Felio Carmelo Ruiz and Juan José Vilar.
