The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, Belén Pérez Martínez, has reported on two actions carried out last Tuesday, June 5, by agents of the Local Operational Response and Prevention Unit, UPROL, within the framework of security operations. underway by the Local Police of Lorca.
The first performance took place at 5:30 p.m. on the Rey Juan Carlos I Avenue of the La Hoya deputation, when a patrol carrying out surveillance work in the area observed several people inside a vehicle with a suspicious attitude, which led to a registration of the vehicle, involving 53 grams of marijuana buds and 14 doses of the same substance wrapped in aluminum foil and prepared for sale.
The agents instructed diligences for the facts, which were sent to the Civil Guard Barracks of Lorca that continues with the subsequent inquiries.
The second intervention happened around 8:30 p.m. when the agents were performing an operative prevention device in the incorporation to the RM-11 in Lorca-Águilas sense.
The agents stopped a vehicle occupied by two people;
after requesting the documentation from his driver to make the pertinent verifications, it was detected that he was very nervous.
The verification allowed to know that this person had antecedents for drug trafficking;
therefore, the vehicle was searched in a comprehensive manner, locating two bags containing 250 grams of marijuana ready for consumption, which were hidden in the bottom of the trunk.
The agents proceeded to arrest the driver of the vehicle for an alleged crime against public health, being placed at the disposal of the National Police of Lorca, along with the seized substance, to continue with the corresponding procedures for the clarification of the facts and its making available to the Judicial Authority.
Pérez Martínez stressed that "we are faced with two important interventions that have allowed the removal of substances harmful to public health from the circulation, identifying the people who use them for trafficking and commercialization." The participants in both operations should be congratulated. as well as to thank once again the collaboration of the State Security Forces, Civil Guard and National Police, for their cooperation and vocation of service, collaborating with the Local Police to guarantee the security of the citizens ".
