The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro has asked the current Mayor and Councilor Works to attend "urgent" neighbors and dealers of the stretch of Avenida de Cervantes affected by the second phase of the remodeling of this via.
The PSOE has registered this morning the 665 signatures collected from neighbors, dealers in the area and users, who request to have a meeting with the Mayor and with those responsible for the works of Cervantes to convey their complaints and suggestions "so that the remodeling of their street is made according to the needs of the neighbors. "
"665 neighbors expect the current Mayor to meet with them and respond to their complaints," he adds.
Neighbors point out that their main concern has been the elimination of "dozens of parking spaces", so they claim that the City of Lorca to conduct a study on the "real parking needs", and now that it is on time " do everything possible to recover a good part of the places that existed. "
In the same way, they request that the Azahar street be contemplated within the urban regeneration project of Alameda de Cervantes.
Navarro considers "illogical" that the City of Lorca has forgotten the renovation of this street "very busy."
It is the street that from Cervantes, gives access to the area in which are installed services as demanded as the Sutullena health center, Mental Health, music school or nursery.
Navarro says that the cost of fixing this street would be "negligible" for a "millionaire" project so it is not acceptable that the main artery will be repaired and forget to include the repair of this adjacent street.
In that same point, Navarro calls for the installation of traffic light regulation.
Neighbors warn that it is a "historic black spot" in which "a neighbor has passed away due to the lack of signage and sufficient lighting".
In the same way, the neighbors demand that by means of the services of maintenance of parks and gardens the necessary work of pruning and care of large trees is carried out to minimize the "normal" discomforts that they generate.
Neighbors point out that laziness, in this sense, "is years old".
Navarro assures that this local indignation responds to the inability of the PP to meet with the neighbors and give citizen participation when planning and executing the works.
The example of the neighbors of Cervantes, says Navarro "is more of the same: remodeling works that are done without anyone."
"Neighbors who feel cheated while listening to the PP talk about the works have been done with the consensus of all the neighbors."
Navarro says that Lorca already know "that they lie, because for there to be consensus, the first thing is to know what they want and they were never asked."
