The beaches of Calnegre inaugurate access control to guarantee the protection and beauty of the Lorca coast (15/06/2018)

The Councilor for the Environment of the City of Lorca, Satur Martinez, has celebrated the implementation of access control on the beaches of Calnegre that will ensure the protection and beauty of the Lorca Litoral thanks to the regulation of motor vehicles that access the Protected Area (LIC Calnegre and Calnegre Regional Park and Cabo Cope) which includes Cala de Calnegre, the Bath of Women and the Siscal.

The City Council has indicated that "the access control will be carried out through two different devices: On the one hand, the normal access control device will be put into operation, consisting of a control of the entry of vehicles through localized barriers. at the entrance of the Calnegre sector and Cala de Calnegre, the entrance of vehicles to each of the beaches in the sector will be controlled, so that the ecological load capacity of each of these zones is not exceeded. The load capacity of any of the sectors will be closed independently, not allowing access to more vehicles to this particular area.

Access control will be in operation for a total of 30 days:

All weekends (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) from June 15 to July 1.

Every Friday in July and 30 and 31 July.

Weekdays of the 1st, 4th and 5th week of August.

2nd weekend of September.

This device will last for 8 hours, starting at 11.30 and ending at 19.30.

Regarding the special access control device with bus, Martinez explained that "it will be applicable during the days of maximum capacity, implementing a bus service that will close the main entrance to the beach area of ​​Calnegre. of Calnegre or in the deterrent parking area that will be enabled at the entrance with capacity for 150. Each person will acquire a ticket to go down to the beaches that will be picked up by the bus driver, the frequency of passage will be every 30 minutes. free access will be allowed on foot or by bicycle, in the same way, the vehicles will be able to freely access before the start time of the service ".

The special access control device with bus will be in operation for a total of 28 days:

All weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) from July 7 to September 2.

Weekdays of the 2nd and 3rd week of August.

The device will last 11 hours, starting at 10 am and ending at 9 pm.

The bus will stop both on the way out and on the way back to the Albergue de Puntas, a deterrent park, Cala de Calnegre, Cala del Baño de las Mujeres and Cala del Siscal.

As for the price of the bus service, the round trip ticket will cost 3 euros, while the single tickets will be worth 2 euros.

A voucher can be purchased for 10 round trips for a price of 20 euros.

Reduced rates of 50% (not usable for bonuses) will apply in the following cases, which must be justified with the relevant documentation:

-Large family.

- College student.

- Under 12 years old.

- Over 65 years old.

The following exceptions will also be established:

Children under 2 years old can use the bus service for free, as long as they do not occupy a seat.

People with reduced mobility can enter their own vehicle for free until the first cove.

For security reasons, the entrances and exits will always be behind the bus.

Public service personnel in the exercise of their authority suitably identified.

Landowners who are accessed by the road.

Martínez stressed that "through this important initiative we managed to reconcile the visit to the regional park by promoting alternative models of sustainable transport, emitting less dust, reducing the emission of polluting elements, reducing the deterioration of existing roads and reducing the risk of fire, between Other advantages: From the City Council, we want to thank the Autonomous Community for its indispensable collaboration to make this initiative possible, which has so much environmental value but also for the safety of the users.Control access on days of maximum affluence will allow us to better attend any emergency, facilitating the access of fire vehicles, ambulances or police in case their services are needed ".
