The current spokesman of the Municipal Group of United Left-Greens in the City of Lorca, Pedro Sosa, will opt to be a mayoral candidate for this political formation in the primary elections to be held between June 26 and July 1, and in which both the militants and the supporters of IU of this municipality will have the right to vote.

Along with Sosa, Gloria Martín, also councilor of IU, is present in the candidacy;

Isabel Quiñonero, official of the Murcia Health Service;

Martín Campoy, documentalist;

Andrés Vicente, teacher of Music Education;

and Maite Giner, waitress and co-speaker of the platform affected by the return of the earthquake aid that is added as independent in that list.

And it is that for Sosa, it is "essential" to build the alternative to the Popular Party with social organizations and neighborhood groups that have been characterized by the struggle for the rights lost in these eleven years of government of the right in Lorca.

The candidacy, parity and with an average age of 41 years that combines youth and experience, represents the working class, is attached to the feeling of the street and knows perfectly the main problems affecting the municipality, said Sosa.

It is a collective project that does not marginalize anyone and has as its hallmarks the seriousness, effort, honesty and daily work because, he says, "there are many and complicated challenges that we must face in order to get Lorca out of the decadence in which it is sunk by the ineptitude of a self-absorbed and not very close municipal government, which has not managed to channel or manage the enormous potential of talent, capacity and resources treasured by Lorca and Lorca. "

"We want to be able to articulate a system capable of responding to the suffering and the needs of our neighbors," said Sosa, for whom the defense of health and public education, equality between women and men, environmental protection. Environment, the promotion and care of the artistic and cultural heritage or the revitalization of the associative fabric, will continue to be a constant in his daily work.

For Sosa, the main challenges that the municipality must face in the coming years include reindustrialization and the creation of decent jobs, with decent salaries, facilitating the establishment of companies that make Lorca a reference in research and development.

"We believe in companies that are committed to the environment where they are located, that take care of their workers, that bet on local suppliers and revert part of their benefits in society, and those are the ones that Lorca must be attracted to," he explained. .

The remunicipalization of services, the creation of a social rental pool for young people and families who have difficulties accessing the real estate market, the fight against depopulation in rural areas and the equalization of rights, opportunities and services for the inhabitants of our neighborhoods and towns, are other priorities for a candidacy that aspires to be a government after the municipal elections next year.

The pre-candidate of UI to the Mayor's Office has also expressed the interest of his candidacy to join efforts, on an equal footing, with other political organizations on the way to political, economic and social change needed by the municipality.

In this sense, he has expressed his predisposition to dialogue in order to join efforts, from the pride of representing a party whose history, trajectory and service record to the municipality he has described as irreproachable and which has a gold militancy that has been giving, disinterestedly, for decades. the best of itself so that Lorca is a better place and with greater opportunities for everyone.
