The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Gloria Martín, has criticized the high price of public bus transport service for access to the beaches of the Regional Park of Calnegre and Cabo Cope during the summer period.
The price of the ticket, which has been made public today after the publication in the BORM of an Order of the Ministry of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, is 3 euros, which for Martin is "exorbitant" taking into account that it is a "ridiculous" journey, of little more than 2,000 meters -between the deterrent parking area that will be enabled at the entrance to the beaches- which is covered in 6 minutes.
There is a 50% bonus for children under 12 and over 65, members of large families, students, unemployed and people with a recognized disability equal to or greater than 33%, but this discount will only apply for one way tickets and return.
In this way, users who choose to buy tickets for a single trip will have to pay, without distinction, 2 euros.
The mayor of IU-Greens said that his training is in favor of the implementation of control access to the beaches of Calnegre, which will ensure the protection and beauty of the Lorca Litoral thanks to the regulation of motor vehicles that access the protected area of ​​the Calnegre Regional Park and Cabo Cope.
However, he criticized the high cost of the public transport service.
"For a couple with two teenage children who wanted to enjoy Calnegre's coves, the Women's Bath or the Siscal, the joke is going to leave for 12 euros a day," lamented Martin.
"This is not the best way to promote sustainable access to Lorca beaches, because with such high prices, most families prefer to go with their private vehicle," he said.
For all this, has asked to lower the price of this service to be "reasonable" and affordable to the families of Lorca.
