Yesterday afternoon José María Miñarro, President of Paso Azul, Agustín Llamas, Councilor for Culture of Lorca, María del Sagrado Corazón García, President of the Paso Azul Foundation and Ascensión Pérez-Castejón Abad, President of the Association of Friends of the Culture, accompanied by numerous blues and Lorca in general, discovered a plaque intended to indicate to the locals and strangers the place where the illustrious Lorca Emiliano Rojo created most of his work: his workshop on Calle Alta.
In a simple but emotional act, those present recalled the figure of the artist thanks to the words of one of the curators of the exhibition dedicated to the same in the MASS: Pilar Wals.
After these interventions, José María Miñarro, President of Paso Azul, addressed the audience to thank them for their assistance and to reclaim again the prominent role of the Brotherhood of Farmers in the history of the city of Lorca, especially in its cultural facet.
It should be noted that the spectacular exhibition dedicated to Emiliano can be visited until next July 29.
Encompassing three spaces of the MASS, the exhibition has become the temporary exhibition with more meters of exhibition and more pieces exhibited since its opening.
The Cloister houses textile pieces of the value of the mantle of the Virgen de la Fuensanta, patron saint of Murcia, the mantle of the Virgen de la Soledad of the Incarnate Pass, the Scripture Standard of Paso Azul and banners of the Incarnate Pass, Paso Morado and Curia;
while the first floor houses numerous portraits by Emiliano Rojo that allow meeting many personalities of the Lorca of the mid-twentieth century.
Finally, the Temporary Exhibition Hall presents a sample of his sculptural production, as well as paintings of landscapes, religious or marine paintings that allow him to interpret his pictorial production.
