The City Council and SEPE are launching the Agrarian Employment Promotion Program, which will benefit 69 Lorca who were unemployed (04/07/2018)

During the first phase of this project, cleaning and adaptation tasks will be carried out in different green areas of the San Cristóbal neighborhood, works to adapt the Monte del Castillo and green areas of the Barrios Altos de Lorca and cleaning and adaptation of bike lanes , ramblas and ditches of our municipal district.

The investment of the Lorca Consistory and the Public State Employment Service exceeds 270,000 euros

The Local Development Councilor of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, this morning visited the participants of the Program of Promotion of Agricultural Employment, framed within the District Councils, launched by the Lorca Consistory thanks to a grant from the Public Service of State Employment.

Sandra Martínez said that "this program has a duration of 3 months, and involves the temporary hiring of a total of 25 farm workers and 5 foremen who were unemployed and have been selected by the Employment Office of Lorca The initiative is carried out thanks to a joint investment by SEPE and the City Council amounting to almost 274,000 euros, and the second phase of the project, which will be launched in the autumn, will include the temporary hiring of another 39 people who will give continuity to the initiated projects ".

The Local Development Councilor explained that "this project includes three fundamental works to be carried out, the one we are visiting today is about the cleanliness and adequacy of the San Cristóbal de Lorca neighborhood, where the preparation, regeneration and maintenance of a total area will be carried out of 31,000 m2 distributed between the Park of Los Angeles, green areas of the Paso Encarnado Avenue, parterres of the Armed Forces Avenue and the Park of La Peñica.We are talking about a performance in which they are working since July 2 2 foremen and 13 pawns, and to which it allocates an amount of more than 137,000 euros ".

Martínez pointed out that "the second of the interventions planned in this program refers to the adaptation of Monte del Castillo and green areas of the Barrios Altos de Lorca, with these works being carried out mainly in the Castle Hill, San Pedro, San Roque, Santa María, San Juan, Rambla de San Lázaro and Calvario, in these places will be carried out tasks of adaptation of the land, irrigation transformation and planting in green areas.We are talking about an operation that will have the participation of an integrated staff by 2 foremen and 8 pawns, contemplating an investment superior to 90,500 euros ".

The Local Development Edil has indicated that "the last action that is going to be carried out is the cleaning and adaptation of bicycle lanes, ravines and ditches of our municipal area, carrying out the works in Carretera de Águilas (C-3211), Carretera de Granada towards La Torrecilla, Carretera N-340 from the neighborhood of Apolonia to La Hoya, Cazalla, Rambla de Los Peñones, Rambla de Las Señoritas and Rambla de Las Chatas, in this sense, 1 foreman and 4 agricultural laborers will carry out cleaning and adaptation work, clearing, elimination of pre-existing vegetation and herbicide treatments.The investment of this program reaches more than 45,000 euros ".

Sandra Martinez, finally, stressed that "the objective of this program is that these people are trained and learn a trade while performing tasks aimed at improving the neighborhoods, districts, watercourses, parks and gardens of the municipality. so that Lorca continues to reduce unemployment figures faster than the regional and national average, with a decrease in unemployment of more than 3,000 people in the last four years, which places us in the best employment figures since the beginning of 2009. "
