Diego José Mateos considers "inadmissible" that more than 50% of patients without a date for specialists in the entire Region are concentrated in area III of Lorca (26/07/2018)

Mateos: "We can not continue to allow the Regional Government to continue mistreating Rafael Méndez de Lorca and Lorca in this way." The hiring of the necessary health personnel is urgent so that the Lorca do not have to wait more than triple than any other Murcia to be attended by a specialist "

The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has denounced that the Popular Party are surpassing all the "legal and moral" limits with regard to the existing gaps in area III of health.

The new official data on waiting lists refocuses in Lorca more than 50 percent of the total number of patients without a date throughout the Region.

Mateos believes that this data is sufficiently "inadmissible" for the Mayor to react and revise its scale of priorities for Lorca as "in this matter we do the life and health of the 100,000 inhabitants of Lorca."

The number of patients without an assigned date for the first specialty consultation goes back up and reaches in area III the 6,750, rising in just 3 months from the 4,868.

That is, there are 2,118 more patients who fall into that "limbo", without appointment to be served, as a result of the policy of "closure of agendas" and the lack of necessary health personnel due to cuts and precarious work imposed by the Regional Government of the Popular Party.

The 6,750 "undated" patients in health area III correspond to 50.49% of the total undated patients of the entire Region of Murcia.

Mateos says that "we can not continue to allow the Regional Government to continue mistreating Rafael Mendez in this way and punishing the Lorca, before the flagrant lack of resources, human and technical, which leaves Lorca at the head of the worst indicators in health ".

In this sense, they again miss the claiming character of the Mayor of Lorca when it comes to confronting his party colleagues who, as in this case, are directly responsible for the management of public health.

Mateos assures that it is time for a Mayor to be able to punch on the table of the Autonomous Community, and be able to demand the necessary resources so that there is "equality between areas" and not allow any citizen to have to expect more than another, depending on where you reside.
