93 children have participated in the Summer Schools to Conciliate and Coeducar developed in La Paca, Almendricos and urban center between the Regional Government and the City Council (31/07/2018)

This program responds to the demands raised by the Consistory by women both individually and by Associations, on the need to create more services to care for and care for children in non-school periods.

The Councilor for Equality in the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, together with the General Director of Women and Equality of Opportunities of the Family Council of the CARM, Alicia Barquero, have closed this morning the Summer Schools to Conciliate and Coeducate, that have been developed between July 16 and July 31, having as headquarters the Popular University and the districts of La Paca and Almendricos.

Juan Francisco Martínez explained that the Schools for Reconciling and Coeducar program aims to develop services in the municipality of Lorca to reconcile work and private life, covering the needs of children aged 3 to 12 years, enrolled in the centers of Early Childhood and Primary Education of the municipality.

These conciliation services provide the care needs of boys and girls, in part of the non-school periods, while their parents are working or receiving training for employment.

The Councilor for Equality has indicated that these Summer Schools have been developed from July 16 to July 31, from Monday to Friday from 7:45 to 15:15 hours, in Lorca, at the Almendricos Public School and at the Point of Child Care in La Paca.

It should be noted that the number of students benefited has been 93, of which 62 correspond to the urban area, 15 to Almendricos and 16 to La Paca.

Martínez Carrasco stressed that from the City of Lorca we consider it necessary to develop programs such as these schools to reconcile and co-educate since the reconciliation of work, family and personal life is valued as an essential strategy for the achievement of equality of women and men, it also contributes to a new social and economic organization, where women and men can make compatible the different areas of their lives: employment, family and leisure and personal time.

The Edil de Igualdad has added that this program responds to the demands raised by women, in the Department of Equality of Lorca, both individually and by Associations, on the need to create more services to care for and care for children in periods not school.

Also, in some districts, families raise the deficits of this type of resources and demand decentralization and reconciliation services closer to rural areas, for this reason from the City of Lorca we echo the requests made by our neighbors and we set up these Summer Schools so that in the non-school periods children can enjoy, learn and make new friends while their parents work or are trained to look for a job.

Various workshops and activities have been held in the Summer Schools, such as a welcome mural;

games and presentation dynamics;
