Gloria Martín, councilor of Izquierda Unida Verdes in the municipality of Lorca, has urged the government team this morning to supervise and implement the security measures of the regeneration works that are being carried out in the Alameda de Cervantes, due to the risk that suppose for pedestrians.
The left-leaning mayor makes this demand after the complaints of merchants in this way, who have removed the gateways that gave access to their shops.

In fact, this morning a neighbor of the area has fallen after stumbling over the cover of a sewer that was loose, without any of the workers of the works that were around.
"Those affected already have to endure an important economic loss due to the decrease in customers due to jobs, as well as to be exposed to injuries due to the lack of security in the works", said Martín.
Therefore, he urged the Mayor and the Councilor of Works to give an immediate solution to this problem to avoid more accidents, which can also involve property claims to the City Council, and not further harm the sales of merchants.
