The Local Development Councilor of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez Navarro, has taken stock of unemployment data for the month of July and reflecting a decline in unemployment of 143 people, from 5,031 unemployed in June to 4,888 at the end of July .
Martínez Navarro has described the results as "extraordinary, since it is a very significant decrease in practically all sectors, such as Agriculture, Industry or Services." This new decrease implies the consolidation of the process of job creation that Lorca is experiencing in the last months and that goes beyond seasonality, we are convinced that these good results will continue during the autumn. "
The mayor has stressed that "although it is an anecdotal, it should be noted that this unemployment figure is the best since the current system was established to reflect the data, so since 2009 there were no data as good as those of this month. "
Even so, Martínez Navarro has pointed out that "we must continue working so that unemployment continues to decline, each person unemployed deserves to find a job that fits their profile and all administrations have to continue to have as a priority the policies against unemployment In fact from the Department of Local Development continue working with the same intensity during the summer and preparing new initiatives that we will develop from September to professionally train, train and expand the employability of hundreds of Lorca.
