The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, Belén Pérez Martínez, has announced a performance starring agents of the UPROL Unit within the security arrangements made by the different police units in the municipality, which resulted in the investigation of a person for an alleged crime against industrial property, forgery of textile garments of legally registered brands.

The events occurred as a result of the control put in place by the UPROL, when a patrol controlled a van on the RM-620 highway, which links Purias with the Almeria town of Pulpí.

After identifying the driver it was found that he was carrying inside the vehicle a large number of textile garments of legally registered brands that were allegedly forged.

The agents carried out a thorough inspection of the transported objects, locating a total of 1,800 textile garments that, allegedly, had falsified the logos, labels and wrappings, destined to be put on sale mainly in markets of Murcia and Almeria.

The garments, which had a market value of around 60,000 euros, were intervened, remaining at the disposal of the courts.

These are facts that, in addition to being unlawful, suppose unfair competition for properly regulated merchants and that are usually related to criminal organizations that move large amounts of black money.

The author of the events, MT, of Senegalese nationality, has multiple police records for acts of a similar nature.

Due to these facts, the corresponding proceedings were ordered and sent to the Civil Guard, which continues with the procedures for ascertaining the facts and making available to the Judicial Authority both the author of the same and the items intervened.

The Mayor wanted to highlight the importance of "the constant preventive and operational work carried out by the Local Police of Lorca throughout the municipality and that allows, through the different units in which it is organized, to put in place devices and controls of surveillance that allows you to discover who you commit illicit actions. "
