The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes in Lorca, Gloria Martín, has denounced the flooding of several stretches of the RM-621, known as the old road of Eagles, after the rains that occurred yesterday afternoon and left 24 l / m2 in the municipality.
The flooding of this road, which Martin personally verified, caused difficulties in road traffic to the point that some vehicles had to move through the bike lane attached, especially at the intersections with the Vela lane and the Ibarra road.
The councilor of IU-Green recalled that precisely this section was remodeled in 2015 with an investment of three million euros and that, during its inauguration, the then Minister of Development, Francisco Bernabé (PP), said that the old road from Lorca to Águilas thus became "the best in the Region of Murcia".
"The facts show that it was just another fudge to wash the face of a road that still has the same problems as always when it rains," lamented Martin.
The mayor of IU-Greens recalled that only a few days ago, the spokesman of its municipal group, Pedro Sosa, criticized the passivity of the Administrations to avoid floods and floods and demanded that, among others, the works of extension of the viaducts be executed of drainage on the Rambla de Biznaga of roads RM-11 (Lorca-Águilas highway) and RM-621, which is already projected and awarded.

Martín said that the orchard of Lorca is still "very vulnerable" to the floods when they are about to be six years of which on September 28, 2012 drowned hundreds of hectares of farmland and dozens of farms, causing two deaths in the municipality and more than one hundred million euros in losses.
In that sense, he explained that residents of Pozo Higuera, La Campana and La Escucha lived yesterday "moments of great nervousness" before the foreseeable flood of the ramblas.
"It is unfair that the neighbors live with fear in the body due to the lack of public investments to avoid avenues and also due to the irresponsibility of the City Council, which grants construction permits that alter the natural water passage".
Martin alluded to a macrocephalus of 2,000 heads raised in a flood zone and for which the Consistory did not request the relevant reports to the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS), which keeps the neighbors of the La Piscina site in suspense.
The mayor of IU-Greens called "recklessness" municipal action for the risk involved from the point of view of a possible flood.
And it is that the CHS itself ensures that, according to the information that emerges from the mapping of flood zones "in the area in question, drafts of up to 0.40 meters and speeds close to one meter per second are reached for the return period of 500 years ".
