The PSOE of Lorca satisfied with the visit of the President of the CHS and the Government Delegate to the area affected by the floods of September 2012 (22/08/2018)

The Lorca socialists have managed to manage, along with the affected neighbors, this important visit and say they will be vigilant to continue taking steps to adopt the necessary measures, govern who governs in the CHS, to prevent floods from recurring in Torrecilla, Campillo and Purias.

The Government Delegate in Murcia Diego Conesa and the new President of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, under the Ministry of Environment and Transition Mario Urrea at the request of the Spokesman of the Municipal Socialist Group, Diego José Mateos visited Lorca, specifically the channel of the Rambla de Biznaga with its intersection with the RM-11, to know, together with a representation of the neighbors and affected by the floods of 2012, the current situation of this channel.

The spokesman of the Municipal Socialist Group, Diego José Mateos, has expressed his satisfaction for the visit this morning to Lorca of the Delegate of the Government and the new President of the Confederación Hidrografica del Segura who took possession of his cargo only 22 days ago to know about the land the real situation of the channels and ramblas of the districts of Campillo and Torrecilla.

The Socialist spokesman has indicated that the commitment of a visit of the technicians of the CHS together with the local representatives has been started within 2 months to verify the situation on the ground and provide solutions or alternatives to the diverse problems of the zone.

Mateos has said that they will remain vigilant and demanding both before the CHS and before the City of Lorca so that steps are taken to take the appropriate decisions and proceed to execute the works that are considered necessary.

For his part, the Government Delegate, Diego Conesa, has expressed to the neighbors and representatives of the different groups present the total commitment of the Government of Spain in providing a coordinated solution among all the entities involved to put an end to the uncertainty that the neighbors since that fateful September 28, 2012, in which the flood of the ravine not only produced many material damages but also cut the lives of 5 people.

In this sense, Conesa has expressed its commitment, stating that having elapsed almost 6 years since that fateful day is necessary little or nothing has been done to curb the damage that may cause water.

Along with the above, the President of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura Mario Urrea who took office on August 1, has transferred to the neighbors his commitment and receptivity in all matters dependent on his agency to agree on a consensus. definitive solution to the problem of the floods of this Rambla as it passes through the districts of Torrecilla and Campillo, fundamentally.

In this sense it has informed the neighbors of the works that the Confederation has been focused this time ago, making the appropriate studies for the construction of the containment dams of Nogalte, Béjar and Torrecilla and their processing through the Ministry framed within the Plan Defense of the Guadalentín to, in this way, act at the root of the problem caused by flooding in this area, in turn has been receptive to existing drainage problem at the point where they were, the intersection of Rambla de Biznaga with the RM-11, expressing that from its organism the necessary studies are going to be carried out to improve this situation and help to give a solution to it.
