The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, welcomed this morning the registration in the Congress of Deputies, by the Popular Parliamentary Group, of a Proposition No of Law in which the Government of Spain is urged to implement, in a urgent, measures that compensate the interests of delay corresponding to the files of reinstatement to those affected by the Lorca earthquake of 2011.

Fulgencio Gil stressed "the importance of this measure as it will benefit thousands of Lorca still affected by these interests of delay After the approval in the Regional Assembly of the proposed law to solve the problems of Lorca affected by the justification of aid after earthquakes, expedite the resolution of files and extend the deadlines for the justification of the same now is the time for the State to join the mechanisms in favor of Lorca After the cancellation of 50% of interest of delay corresponding to the reimbursement of the aid by the Autonomous Community is the Government of the Nation who has to do the same ".

So far there are more than 2,000 files that, totally or partially, can generate refunds, with the corresponding settlement of interest, from the moment in which the aid was received for the repair of houses, practicing a total of 742 self-assessments, that also earn interest.

In addition, it should be remembered that more than 16,000 cases have been processed and 7,885 grants have been granted for all items: rent, repair and reconstruction, whose cost is over 80 million euros.
