The affected neighbors have learned of this error when observing the installation of a closure system in full C-15, and demand that it be reversed urgently.
The councilman of Rural Development in the City of Lorca, Angel Meca, this morning formally requested the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) to reverse its decision to cut the transit of vehicles on Highway C -15, a road that constitutes the main communication channel filmed for the residents of Cortijo Las Palas and Los Juanetes, as well as multiple livestock farms in the vicinity.
Meca Ruzafa has indicated that the neighbors moved this complaint in the morning yesterday to the City Council, as they found on this road a team of workers who proceeded to the installation of a system of closure of the road, anticipating, to the stupefaction of affected neighbors, which will proceed immediately to the closure of the road, following instructions from the CHS.
It is a measure taken entirely from the backs of the residents of the area and that has also been hidden from the City Council, without giving Lorca the slightest opportunity to comment on it.
The mayor of Rural Development, put in contact with the neighbors affected by this unilateral decision of the CHS, claims that in no case be cut this road, given the great service provided to citizens who use it daily to access their homes, farms and crops.
It should be noted that this road has historically always been open to the passage of vehicles, since it is the only road that makes it possible to cross the dam of the Puentes reservoir, without this having implied any incidence.
Ángel Meca, thus things, has anticipated that the City will demand that the CHS reconsiders the order that has been taken, since it lacks all common sense, and profoundly harms the neighbors of these places, as well as the Lorca and visitors that historically we have used to enjoy the environment of the dam of Puentes.
We can not hide that this type of actions, which have been hidden even from the Municipal Council, do not contribute to the maintenance of good relations between both institutions.
In any case, we believe that we are still in time to correct this serious error, avoiding unnecessary damages to the residents of the area who are being affected by a decision that has been taken without taking into account the consequences that come with it.
The councilman of Rural Development has advocated maintaining a direct and fluid communication with the new heads of the CHS to avoid this type of problems, which are greatly affecting the neighbors, trusting that the traditional good understanding that the City Council has had with this organism can be maintained.
In fact, if they had consulted us, we could have informed them of the error that is being committed.
