The Petanque has had a place in this first weekend of the XL Guadalentín Sports Games with the celebration of the traditional Pétanque Fair Trophy, one of the most established competitions of the regional calendar that this year had to fight, unfortunately, with the difficult ones Meteorological forecasts foreseen for the day of Sunday.
The threat of rain overflew the competition throughout the morning and even led to players from other municipalities decided not to move to Lorca in case it was canceled or if it had to stop.
In spite of all this, 30 couples met during the morning of Sunday, starting at 9 o'clock in the morning on the slopes of San Diego, which means a total of 60 participants.
Specifically, there were 28 pairs in the adult category and 2 in the juvenile category, this time the women's tournament could not be held when only one woman participated, who competed in one of the adult pairs.
These were the winners:
Absolute General (28 duplets)
Winners: dupleta formed by Tim and Toni de Alhama de Murcia.
Subchampions: double formed by Rafa and José de Lorca and Vélez Rubio, respectively.
General absolute consolation
Winners: dupleta formed by Búfalo and Zamora de Totana.
Runners-up: doubles formed by Jerónimo Belmonte and José Manuel, from the clubs of Ciudad de Lorca and San Diego.
Juvenile (2 pairs)
Winners: dupleta formed by Juan Francisco Pérez and Ricardo Soler de Lorca.
Runners-up: double formed Jerónimo Belmonte and Cristian Belmonte de Lorca.
