The PSOE denounces "simulated scuppers" in the street and poorly finished works in the Rambla de Tejares in the San Cristóbal de Lorca neighborhood (15/09/2018)

The Socialists believe that the urban regeneration works carried out in the area of Ramblilla de Tejares constitute a "new fudge" of the PP Government team in the face of total lack of interest and control in the execution of the same.

They indicate that they have not taken into account the demands of the neighbors, who are outraged, as the burial of garbage containers, water leaks through the pavement when there are rains and no measures have been taken to improve safety road in the school zone.

The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Lorca, David Romera, has denounced what he considers a "tease" to the residents of the Rambla de Tejares neighborhood of San Cristobal, by the result of urban regeneration works carried carried out in the area in recent months under the loan of the European Investment Bank for the reconstruction of the city.

Romera indicates that "the lack of interest and control of the PP Government team in the urban regeneration works of Lorca has reached such a low level, such apathy, that simulated scuppers have been installed" on some roads such as Colmenar and Zamora streets despite the high slope that they present and that, when it rains, they turn into authentic torrenteras.

The mayor is not explained "how they have been able to install some scuppers that are simulated, that do not exist, that are false, because the only thing that has been done has been to screw the grilles to the ground";

that is to say, "neither the boxes or ditches for the reception of rainwater have been placed, nor has the connection been made with the rainwater evacuation network existing in the same street, a full-fledged tease to the neighbors of the area and the Rambla de Tejares ", the main axis of the neighborhood that becomes with rains in a torrent of water and mud" precisely because no drains have been installed in the streets. "

In addition, the socialist mayor denounces the "bad completion of the works", the careless appearance and absence of garden areas in the square of the neighborhood and the appearance a few weeks after the completion of the works, of "serious damage" as is the risk of detachment of guardrails that save large slopes and ravines due to lack of an adequate anchorage, which poses a danger to the population;

old banks that have not been repainted, loose cobbles through which rainwater filters and that end up creating dampness and damage to the foundations of nearby homes.

The damages created in some particular facades have not been repaired either and the materials used in the stairs are already worn out.

In addition, the PP did not take into account some requests from the Association of Neighbors of the Ramblilla de Tejares as it was the burying of the garbage containers and the creation of an ecological island, the placement of sinks in the streets of the upper part and the Adoption of measures to improve road safety in the school zone to reduce the speed of vehicles passing by.

For all this, David Romera has asked the councilor responsible for Works "to explain to the residents of the area of Rambla de Tejares the foundation of why they have placed simulated scuppers in the streets Zamora and Colmenar" and claims that imminently " all the defects and deficiencies that have appeared due to the urban regeneration works are repaired, taking advantage of the fact that they are still under warranty period ".
