PSOE: "The PP ignores all proposals for improvement and perpetuates in Lorca an inefficient urban transport" (21/09/2018)

David Romera: "Today, the PP may have rejected our proposals for improvement with its absolute majority, but from May 2019 they will not be able to do anything to stop our firm intention to offer Lorca modern, agile and functional urban transport to a more sustainable Lorca and guarantor of a better quality of life for its citizens ".

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, David Romera has lamented that the Popular Party, making use of its absolute majority, has rejected the forty allegations that the Municipal Socialist Group presented with the aim of improving the "nefarious" urban transport raised by the PP.

"The Popular Party ignores our proposals for improvement, in another display of contempt for the participation in the design of something as important as the public transport service for Lorca."

David Romera says that this contempt for contributions "was expected" as well as the "vacuum of proposals" as the Popular Party "was responsible for opening the deadline for allegations in a month like August, practically unskilled, so that neighbors and collectives did not have an opportunity to make allegations. "

The mayor says that "with all this, they will boast that it has been a success of citizen participation, but the reality is that they presented a 100% closed report, opening a period of allegations in the month of August, in which only the PSOE has raised allegations. "

In this way, the PP confirms its commitment to maintain an urban transport service "that does not work and that needs to be improved".

"It's a social clamor that urban transport needs a 180 degree turn," he says.

The mayor has pointed out that the memory posed by the PP presents "important gaps", especially in those that involve the districts.

In fact, among others, the announcement of a bus, the number 4, that offers the same trip with the same departure time from the Oval to three different districts: Rio, Tercia and Marchena draws attention.

David Romera insists that the urban transport of Lorca has to be "more attractive", and needs a greater number of buses and lines, especially to improve the connections with the districts.

Along with these proposals, the PSOE also requested the establishment of special lines for events such as Easter or the fair, as well as the creation of special rates for workers, youth and students.

However, the continuation proposal made by the PP on the transport model is "a new lost opportunity".

The mayor has assured that "today they could have rejected our proposals for improvement, which are what we Lorca, but what they can not do, if in May we get the majority confidence of Lorca, will stop our firm intention to offer the lorquinos a modern, agile and functional urban transport for a more sustainable Lorca, where a better quality of life for the citizens is guaranteed ".
