Mateos demands the change of the lawn of the stadium Juan Martínez 'Casuco' since his condition is dangerous for the health of the children (01/10/2018)

The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has demanded the renewal of the lawn of the Juan Martínez 'Casuco' stadium, the artificial turf field attached to the Municipal Stadium Francisco Artés Carrasco, whose state is "lamentable" since after fifteen Years of activity since its inauguration "has become a real sandpaper".

Mateos has stated that every day, hundreds of children practice their sport in a field that, because of the years it has and because of its intense use, "is in an unfortunate state and is increasingly causing injuries to children who they use it, and even abrasion burns, because the lawn has lost all its properties. "

Since it was inaugurated 15 years ago "the turf has not been changed, when the useful life of an artificial grass field is around 10 years".

It also has an intense use for the large number of teams and children who train and play their official matches in that field.

Diego José Mateos said that parents, as well as sports professionals who use these facilities every day claim that "young players come with burns due to abrasion and skin wounds, not counting the ankle and knee injuries caused by lack of cushioning and minimum conditions of the turf that qualify it as a real sandpaper ".

Therefore, Mateos has demanded that as soon as possible the budget line necessary to undertake the renovation of the artificial turf, which "arrives 5 years late" and that, as in other municipal sports facilities, due to neglect, be enabled. It has become an urgent and essential action to ensure normal sports practice and avoid bodily harm to children and users.
