The monuments of Lorca will recover the ancient sound of the historical melodies thanks to the celebration of the VI Festival of Ancient Music (03/10/2018)

It will have like scenes the Chapel of the Virgin of the Alcázar in the Collegiate of San Patricio, as well as the Church of San Francisco, the Chapel of the Rosary, the convent of the Poor Sisters of Santa Clara and the convent of the Virgen de las Huertas.

The Councilor for Culture in the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, together with the President of the Association of Musical Heritage and Friends of Music, Antonio Manzanera, presented this morning the VI edition of the Ancient Music Festival of Lorca, Musal, which for this The year includes a series of concerts, lectures, didactic concerts and an introductory course in Gregorian chant.

It is a promoted initiative that is sponsored by the Municipal Consistory.

The acts begin this Friday at 8:30 p.m. with a concert in one of the most emblematic enclaves of the Collegiate Church of San Patricio, such as the Chapel of the Virgen del Alcázar, who was the Patron of the City.

It is an appointment that will be borne by Santi Mirón, from the Pro Lux Fundació line-up, who will perform different pieces by renowned composer Bach with his viola de gamba.

The event has free admission to complete its capacity.

On Saturday, the 6th, the Baroque Traverso by José Fernández Vera and the key of Anabel Sáez will take over to offer us "Galanteries, the chiaroscuro gallery", with its peculiar intimacies of 18th century Europe.

The appointment is in the church of the convent of the Poor Sisters of Santa Clara (Poor Clares).

Ana Yepes, meanwhile, will offer us the opportunity to enjoy the demonstration conference entitled "Panorama of dance in Europe from the sixteenth to the seventeenth centuries, according to the choreological sources of the Spanish golden age, the Renaissance and the French baroque".

A very special appointment for all the followers of classical and historical music that will be held at the Teatro Guerra at 10 in the morning of next Wednesday, the 17th.

Eduardo Paniagua and César Carazo will allow us to introduce ourselves to the music of the medieval Jews of Lorca, on the 19th at the Teatro Guerra, also at 10 o'clock in the morning.

The cycle of conferences that includes this edition of the Musal will start on Monday 8th with the specialist in historical keys, key, organ and fortepiano, and Director of the Tempest, Silvia Márquez Chulilla, who will speak about "Spanish Baroque music, a soundtrack" .

On Monday, the 15th, it will be the turn of Eva Martínez Marín, PhD in Art History and Bachelor of History and Music Sciences, whose lecture will be on "The Pedagogical Heritage of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach", including small pieces interpreted to the clavichord.

The course of Gregorian Chanting contemplates for its realization 3 days, those corresponding to Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21, under the direction of Juan Torres Durán, and will focus on Songs of Communion.

It will have as headquarters the Municipal School of Music, with a registration fee of 40 euros.

The deadline to participate will remain open until October 15.
