The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has demanded Gil Jódar to "put the batteries" to the risk that, for his planning "jump to kill" of the works, can lose the necessary funding for undertake the works of urban regeneration promised both in Jerónimo Santa Fe and on the old road of the Port.
According to Mateos, these are two areas that cover a large population and whose remodeling is of "special need", judging by the high degree of abandonment they present.
In this sense, Mateos has shown his concern, because the continuous delays in the processing of both files could jeopardize their financing, subject to the extension that the European Investment Bank granted and that expires at the end of the next year.
Taking into account the months covered only administrative processing or "paperwork" of the files, plus the 12 or 13 months that, on average, are being invested in the execution of this type of work, we could be talking about "year and half or two years "for the completion of these projects.
Deadlines that, according to Mateos, would jeopardize the financing of these works under the EIB loan.
Mateos has urged the Mayor to streamline the processing of both projects, which have accumulated "years of delay since they were committed to the neighbors" due, once again, to the planning "at skip the bush" with which the Popular Party has led and the execution of urban regeneration works in the city continues to arrive.
"The rush of the PP are making these works a missed opportunity to carry out an urban regeneration of the city with a view to the future."

For the specific case of the works in Jerónimo Santa Fe and old road of the Port, Mateos has missed that they were not executed after the works in La Viña or San José.

Facing the award of both projects, Mateos has again asked the Mayor not to lock themselves in when planning them, as they have done in the rest of the neighborhoods, but to open them to citizen participation and consultation.
Similarly, it ensures that it is necessary to implement a mechanism of coordination between works to avoid "chaotic" situations like those suffered by neighbors in neighborhoods such as La Viña, San Diego, San José or recently in Juan Carlos Avenue, Cervantes. or Los Angeles and Apolonia.
