Ciudadanos Lorca has asked Mr. Mayor that the future Auditorium of Lorca be named "Maestro Rafael Rosell Cebrián."
Taking into account the process of construction of this Auditorium in the Santa Quiteria fairground and being as it is the Auditorium of any city in the world, the place where concerts and musical shows are held, "we believe it should have a related name with the world of music "explains the councilor.
The illustrious musicians of Lorca as Narciso Yepes or Bartolomé Pérez Casas already name conservatory and school, street and institute respectively.
For Antonio Meca "we can not forget another distinguished musician like the maestro Rafael Rosell Cebrián, who in 1975 and until 1983 took charge of the Municipal Band of Lorca, managing to increase his staff to 50 musicians and achieving the maximum level and recognition that this musical institution has had throughout its history, also focusing its work on the Municipal Academy of Music, which soon paid off. "
Of his teaching activity we can highlight the large number of qualified teachers and media that now nourish orchestras and conservatories throughout Spain.
The most important concert performed by the Municipal Band of Lorca was with Narciso Yapes in December 1979, in which the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo was performed, with a transcription for Rosell Cebrián's own band, obtaining a resounding success.
Among his composite works, we can point out "La curia", an anthem of Paso Negro;
"Paso Morado" and a "Canto a Lorca".
