The Councilor for Sports of the City of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas, along with the director of the Games, José Luis Lozano, presented the closing day of the 40 Sports Games Guadalentín to be held on Friday October 12 and will be a party of sport and coexistence at the height of this exceptional celebration of the Lorca Olympics.
The councilor announced that "we will close the Games with the traditional cycle-walk that will take hundreds of cyclists through the streets of Lorca.The place of concentration will be the Felipe VI Sports Complex, the registrations being able to be taken from 10 o'clock. Tomorrow, before the start, the students of the socio-cultural animation course of the Youth Employment Project will be assisted by the Town Council, who will carry out activities with the youngest ones such as games, face painting or bike decoration. contests: best bike costume set (individual), more curious pedal vehicles and the group of 3 or more cyclists better set, and all participants will receive the commemorative shirt of this special edition of the Games.
At 11 o'clock the journey through the streets of Lorca will start, which will be almost 11 kilometers long, crossing the neighborhoods and the urban center of the city.
Upon the return to the Felipe VI Sports Complex, the official closing will take place.
This year there will be a tribute to all clubs that have participated in these fortieth Games, thanking them for their involvement in forming a historical edition of the Lorca Olympics for quality and participation.
To celebrate the anniversary, a special raffle will be held.
Participants can earn bonuses for the activities directed by Felipe VI, sports equipment, 4 hams, 4 bicycles or 2 family dinners, among others.
And as special gifts, 2 weekend trips for 2 adults and one child: one to Granada with tickets to the Alhambra and another to Valencia with passes to the Oceanografic.
But the Cycle-Walk will not be the only activity of the week.
On the same afternoon of Wednesday, he will finish his participation in the Lorca Olympic Games Playing Athletics on the Street with a session that will take place in Las Alamedas starting at 6:00 p.m.
Also this afternoon the Sports Complex Felipe VI will host at 19.30 a judo exhibition with which will pay homage to the master and precursor of this sport in our city: Serafin Piñeiro.
But as this is a special edition of Guadalentín Sports Games, and although officially closed on Friday, activities will continue happening during the weekend to complete the broad program of activities developed.
During the morning of Saturday the brand new Juan Zurano Pavilion will host the finals of the Badminton Trophy;
with the aim of recovering this sport that so much pull had a few decades ago in the municipality, since the secondary schools have organized this tournament whose first duels are being held during the week, reserving the final matches for Saturday.
Also on Saturday morning, starting at 11 am, the Mercado del Sol will host an exhibition of fencing;
it is an incomparable setting to enjoy the advances of Lorca shooters, very active since the foundation a couple of years ago of the local club.
In the afternoon, from 4:00 pm, the Felipe VI Sports Complex will host the traditional Taekwondo exhibition.
The schedule of the Games will end on Sunday morning with the exhibition of rhythmic and aesthetic gymnastics organized by Club Gymnos, which will take place at 10 am also at Felipe VI.
