Diego José Mateos is marked as "absolute priority" the extension of the public parking Rafael Méndez de Lorca hospital (15/10/2018)

Diego José Mateos proposes short, medium and long term measures to solve the very serious lack of parking for Rafael Méndez, and assures that if in the remainder of the mandate the current mayor does not move, as of May 2019 the PSOE will drive the expansion of public parking

The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has returned to denounce the "very serious problem" for lack of parking suffered by users of Rafael Méndez de Lorca Hospital and has proposed "short, medium and long term" measures for solve this "prejudice" that affects the citizens of the municipalities of Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Águilas, Totana and Aledo.

The Speaker has made this complaint accompanied by María Rosa García, candidate for mayor of Puerto Lumbreras by the PSOE, and also with José Manuel Miravete, socialist councilor in this town, and Marisol Sánchez, PSOE deputy spokesman in Lorca.

Mateos has ensured that if there is a work that had been a priority "for years" that is the expansion of the public parking area of Lorca hospital.

So much so, that the spokesman of the PSOE believes that the Autonomous Community "has the obligation" to solve this "serious damage" as it did before a similar situation in the parking lot of the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital.

"Keep neglecting this project is to continue neglecting the real ordeal through which thousands of citizens cross daily, who see them and want to find public parking near their hospital," he says.

Among the proposed measures, in the short term the PSOE has again raised the adequacy of the site, owned by the municipality, which is annexed to the current parking area and in which currently the City of Lorca stores disused urban furniture.

With this proposal of the PSOE, would be available to users about 200 parking spaces.

Mateos ensures that street lamps, banks and other equipment can be stored "perfectly" anywhere else, but Rafael Méndez users "have no other place to park."

In the medium term, Mateos proposes that the parking of the Francisco Artes Carrasco municipal stadium as a parking lot for the users, and the provision of shuttle buses that provide the service on a continuous basis, be made available provisionally and until a definitive solution is obtained. of transfer from this to the hospital.

It is not the first time that the PSOE raises this "alternative" with which to offer users up to 1,000 places for parking vehicles.

So much so, that following this proposal of the PSOE several companies contacted the City Council "unsuccessfully" in new evidence that the current Mayor and his team of government of the PP not only are not for the work of definitively expand Rafael Méndez's car park, but also "pass" any alternative proposal.

Similarly, Mateos has also raised the need to terminate, once and for all and after several years, the Partial Plan of the 3RT sector that affects the lands of the upper Rafael Méndez hospital.

In this way, the public land included in that sector could be used to enable it as a parking area.

All of them are alternative solutions while the necessary and definite extension "in accordance" with the real needs of parking at Rafael Méndez is not undertaken.

Therefore, Mateos ensures that if Gil Jódar continues "without moving file", not even to undertake those actions that depend solely and exclusively on their municipal powers, as of May 2019 and with the majority confidence of the Lorca, the PSOE will promote the expansion of public parking as "absolute priority for Lorca."

The problem due to the lack of parking in Rafael Méndez will also be addressed in the extraordinary monographic plenary session to be held in the coming weeks at the request of the PSOE to address the critical situation of public health in Lorca and in area III of health.
