The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has asked Gil Jódar to allow the neighbors and merchants of San Antonio to participate in the design of the urban regeneration project of their neighborhood, and not cause it to occur as in the rest of the areas that have been remodeled, where the opinion and needs of those who, in the end, are the ones who will enjoy the result of these works, have hardly been taken into account.

In addition, Mateos has insisted that the same treatment should be given both to the regeneration project of the neighborhood and the much-demanded step at a different level to alleviate the traffic collapses that are generated daily.

Both projects are two "historical" claims of the PSOE, for which Diego José Mateos has been insisting, repeatedly, during the last years.

Mateos regrets the continuous delays that affect the realization of these two projects, tremendously necessary for the population.

As a first step, Mateos has demanded that the preliminary draft about which neighbors and merchants can express opinions and be elaborated by municipal technicians, aware of the reality of the terrain and perfectly trained professionals of which the PP government team has dispensed, in favor of the technicians of the Autonomous Community.

Mateos does not want to repeat situations "embarrassing" to which the PP has given place by leaving in the hands of technicians "outside" the design and planning of the works.

For this reason, he has asked Gil Jódar that this time, even for the first time, for the design of the urban regeneration of the remaining neighborhoods, he will bet directly on the professionalism and knowledge of the municipal workers.

For the spokesman of the PSOE, many of the mistakes and "sloppy" committed during the works of urban regeneration of the neighborhoods would have been avoided if this City Council had led from the beginning and had been "over" and "vigilant" in the coordination and execution of all these projects.

Once this project has been drafted and before the awarding of the works, Mateos demands that it be presented to the neighbors and merchants, but that this meeting is not a mere "armored" exhibition to the opinion and participation of the citizens.

The spokesman of the PSOE asks that these groups can bring improvements to the project, from the perspective of those who know perfectly what it is that the neighborhood needs to improve their urban spaces, completely abandoned after years of "zero investment".

However, Mateos doubts that this may be the commitment of the Mayor, judging from the experience in other neighborhoods and the "bad" that begins in relation to this project.

Since the visit of the regional president to announce this investment, last July, three months have passed without the neighbors and merchants having been informed about the details of the basic project as well as the execution deadlines.

Until now, the neighbors were not even aware that since October 6th the Collaboration Agreement between the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure of the Autonomous Region of Murcia and the City Council of Murcia has been published in the Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia. Lorca, for the execution of the works of urban renewal of the District of San Antonio and adjacent spaces, amounting to 4,750,000 euros.
