IU Lorca denounces the paralysis of the works of the Marín road and the Alameda de Cervantes (18/10/2018)

The councilor of this formation, Gloria Martin, regrets that the neighbors are "paying the duck" of the lack of planning and understanding between the Administrations and demands that the works be completed in order not to lose the subsidies of the works

The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes in the Town Hall of Lorca, Gloria Martín, has denounced the paralysis of the works of the Martin road and the Alameda de Cervantes, which is causing serious damage to neighbors and merchants in the area, so that will take a battery of questions about the next Municipal Plenary.

On the road Marín, the councilor of IU-Greens said that the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif) keeps them paralyzed while the informative study for the urban integration of the high-speed train (AVE) is written.

Martín recalled that the information study has been pending approval since 2009, almost a decade ago, for which he blamed the successive PSOE and PP governments for "failure to comply with all deadlines and for having."

"In what we have been of century, some and others have sold us that the High Speed in Lorca was around the corner, when the reality is that for the only thing that is serving is so that between them they throw the junk to the head and to risk major investments.

Martín explained that Adif has not only paralyzed the works of urbanization of the new street that runs parallel to the road and the construction of a sidewalk on one of the margins of the level crossing, but its reluctance to eliminate a turret and burying the electrical wiring of the Camino Marín, has caused that the works "have been halfway along the entire length of the street", while the execution deadlines continue to run.

This is generating serious problems of accessibility in an area that is especially busy because important public services are located nearby such as the National Police Commissioner, the Sutullena Health Center and its SUAP, the mental health center, the municipal school of music or a public daycare.

"People with reduced mobility, and even those who push a baby chair, have to walk between ditches and holes and overcome countless physical barriers," said Martin, who lamented that the lack of planning and understanding between the administrations are paying for them. citizens.

Therefore, he demanded that the works be completed "because the neighbors do not deserve to have the street raised for months by a AVE that we do not even know if a day will come".

On the other hand, Martín also asks for answers from the Government team on the use to be given to the 30,898 m² lot located next to this road and that, at present, is used as an improvised parking lot and, on weekends, as a "botellódromo" "

"It is a constant source of dust and insalubrity because the site is not conditioned," said Martín.

The land is part of a Partial Plan (Sector 9) approved in 2009 by the City Council and on which a Reparceling Project was carried out in 2011.

At that time the PP announced that the sector would be articulated around a major green area of 6,148 m², and that the consistory would have 4,588 m² for equipment where it would be located, for example, the Young Space that has never been built.

In addition, 223 parking spaces would be created.

However, seven years later, no action has been taken on it.

For this reason, the mayor of IU-Greens has returned to claim the Consistory the cleaning of this space in order to avoid dust in suspension.

"We have spoken with the owners and are willing to give up land use in exchange for a reduction in the IBI, which seems reasonable," he explained.

For IU, it is a good opportunity to launch a public parking and alleviate the deficit arising from the lack of foresight in an area that has experienced strong growth and in which, in addition, have been deleted most of the places of parking that existed in the Alameda de Cervantes.

Martín will also ask in the Plenary for the situation of the streets Architect Ortiz de la Jara and Fray Diego de Cádiz, who have been left out of the works of regeneration of the Marín road, so that they are included in Jerónimo Santa Fe, since They are in a very deteriorated state and with serious problems of water accumulation when it rains.

Four months without light in his street Pintor Rebollo Zamora

Martín will also question the local government team about the reasons why work has been abandoned in the last stretch of Alameda de Cervantes, between the new roundabout of El Gato and San Fernando.

"The workers have disappeared and this part of the street has been left unpaved," he explained.

In addition it will return to claim that the problem that affects the neighbors of the street Pintor Rebollo Zamora is solved, that they take from June without light in this route.

"There are neighbors who leave at five-thirty in the morning to work and walk in the dark between the scaffolding on the sidewalk, exposed to anything happening to them," he said.

"It is a shameful situation that affected people have not received even a fairly coherent explanation," said Martín.
