The Ministry of Development has provisionally approved the "Informative study of the project of urban integration and adaptation to high performance of the railway network of Lorca" to submit it to public information and audience, by announcing it in the Official State Gazette in the coming days.

The public information process will be carried out only for the purposes contemplated in the sectoral railroad legislation, since by Resolution of the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment dated October 1, 2009, it was determined that it was not necessary to submit the study to the ordinary environmental impact assessment procedure (BOE of October 14, 2009).

Description of the action

It consists of the analysis and definition of the actions on the Murcia-Almeria high-speed line, as it passes through the urban center of Lorca, which allows an adequate integration of the railway in said city, given that it is currently very conditioned by the presence of the Murcia-Águilas conventional line.

All the alternatives are proposed in double track (transforming the current rail corridor), and design parameters suitable for mixed traffic (passengers and merchandise).

In total there are two alternatives, with the same layout in plant (3.169 meters in length), but different elevation (one on surface and another buried)

Public information procedure

The public information process will be carried out for a period of 30 working days, starting on the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette, and it is intended that interested persons and institutions may comment on the conception global layout

To this end, the information study will be exposed to the public, in days and business hours of office, in the Promotion Area of ​​the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia (Plaza Balsas, 1, Murcia), in the General Planning Subdirectorate Railway of the Ministry of Development (Plaza de los Sagrados Corazones, 7, Madrid), and a separate-extract in the City of Lorca.
