Lorca, Industrial and Agroalimentary Fair of Lorca, SEPOR, will celebrate its 51st edition from the 5th to the 8th of November in the new Lorca Fair and Congress Center.
The mayor of Lorca and president of SEPOR, Fulgencio Gil, the general director of Livestock of the Autonomous Community, Francisco José González Zapater, and the director of the show, Patry Bermúdez, presented this morning the technical program and the complementary activities that they will develop during the next days and that will return to turn to Lorca and the Region of Murcia in national and international reference in promotion, investigation and commitment with the sector.
The first Lorca mayor announced that "this is a historical edition of SEPOR because our cattle fair par excellence is going to be able to count for the first time with a Fair Center that meets its needs and its capacity. infrastructure we are going to mark a new era for SEPOR that will impact on the improvement of the Fair and its gradual growth over the next few years to continue being that great tool at the disposal of the agri-food sector ".
More than 450 commercial firms will be present at SEPOR, which this year adds new technical seminars such as the I SEPOR Commodities Exchange, dedicated to the commodities markets.
The International Pig Farming Symposium will bring together researchers and experts related to animal welfare, national and international trade, pathologies, legislation, transportation, management and the environment.
The V Monographic Aviar will analyze the situation of the poultry and meat sector and will address issues such as the pressures suffered by the egg sector in Spain.
For the professionals of the goat and sheep subsector, two days of training on emerging diseases, agricultural insurance and the problem of the seasonality of milk have been programmed.
Among the novelties of this year there are also two gastronomic days that, under the headings 'Children in the kitchen' and 'Our wealth among fires', will be carried out together with the Interprofessional of the Porcino de Capa Blanca (INTERPORC) with the objective to spread the benefits of pork and pork products.
It is an action that adds to SEPOR's commitment to address all the links in the food chain, from production to consumption.
Interalimentario Forum will reopen the program of the fair, on Monday, November 5, with a presentation on the essential relationship between the agri-food sector and the consumer.
A new workshop, also focused on consumers, will offer an overview of the influence of animal nutrition on human health.
The 51st edition of SEPOR will be closed with the III National Contest of Ham Cutters, which this year has its first qualifying phase for the international final in Lorca.
GOLD SEPOR Awards
SEPOR 2018 will continue the initiative launched last year to recognize the work of people, groups, companies, associations and institutions that work every day for and for the agri-food sector.
The 2nd Gold SEPOR Gala will take place on November 6 at the Parador de Lorca from 9 pm.
