The project "Young Employment Lorca", distinguished by the Regional Forum of Local Development as the best initiative in the matter at regional level during the last year (13/11/2018)

This group also awarded Antonio Bastida, head of service of the council, as Best Employment and Local Development Agent.

It is an entity integrated by the Universities of Murcia and Polytechnic of Cartagena, Observatory of Rural Development, Local and Employment, in addition, of the Association of Agents of Employment and Local Development of the Region of Murcia.

The Local Development Councilor in the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, reported that the VI Regional Forum on Employment and Local Development, composed of the Universities of Murcia and Polytechnic of Cartagena, together with the Observatory of Rural Development, Local and Employment and the Association of Agents of Employment and Local Development of the Region of Murcia, have distinguished with the Local Development and Employment Prize the project "Young Employment Lorca", organized and launched by the Consistory Lorca, underlining the great work developed by part of the professionals that are making it possible and it is awarded to the most outstanding professionals, projects and entities of the last year.

This recognition to the management of this area by the City Council was accentuated with the delivery to Antonio Bastida, head of service of the area, of the award for the best Local Development and Employment Agent.

We are talking about an initiative that constitutes one of the priority lines of action on the part of the City Council, and that began on December 4, 2017, staying in force until the end of June 2019.

This employment plan is working with a wide range of groups, proposing training actions aimed at people with different academic levels: from without studies to a minimum bachelor's degree, to be able to address a larger number of young people.

It is carried out a comprehensive training of the participants: the necessary for the learning of the trade;

in languages;

in basic skills;

social skills;

new technologies;

gender equality;

job search and self-employment.

There is a network of more than 100 companies for the realization of non-professional work practices, at the same time that the SEF has obtained the recognition as "Professional qualification" of the contents that have been taught in the training action of "Embroidery in silk and gold. "

This project has contemplated the creation of a great team of professionals for the development of all aspects of the project, among which we must mention 6 orientation and insertion technicians, 3 teachers, 1 computer teacher, 2 English teachers and 54 monitors.

We are talking about an initiative that involves the investment of 1,873,453 euros, of which the Employment and Training Service contributes 1,721,516 euros and the rest is paid by the City Council

The general objective of this Employment Plan is to reinforce the employability and professional competences of young people who are not employed and not integrated into the education and training systems and who are enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System, through training activities , constituents of integrated itineraries, placing emphasis on favoring gender equality and non-discrimination of disadvantaged groups.

It is also committed to offer a professional qualification, with specialized and complementary training and the realization of internships in companies, to the group of young unemployed beneficiaries of the Youth Guarantee Program that improves their employability, as well as to create a cooperative social climate in the territory where they are involved the different parties involved in the development of the project, and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit and self-employment of young people who have motivation and interest in achieving their incorporation into the labor market.

The plan also seeks to promote gender equality and non-discrimination of disadvantaged groups.

The project "Young employment Lorca" is made under the call made by the Directorate General of Relations with the Autonomous Communities and Local Authorities, based on the call for ESF aid, provided in the Operational Youth Employment Program, aimed at the sustainable integration of young people in the labor market, in the National Youth Guarantee context.

This plan has been destined to the realization of formative formative actions of integrated itineraries for the improvement of the formation and employability of people older than 16 years and under 30, independently of their formative level and that are registered in the file of the National System of Youth Guarantee

The training actions are 46, in 31 different specialties, of which 19 correspond to obtaining Certificates of Professionalism.

The beneficiaries of the project, who charge a scholarship of € 200 per month for assistance to the training, are 448 young people.

The average duration of the training actions ranges between 4 and 8 months, depending on the specialty.

All the training activities have a period of theoretical-practical training and another one of professional practices, not work, in real working environments.

In addition to the specific contents of each specialty, young people will receive language training, equal opportunities between men and women and new information and communication technologies.

The professional families included are:

Textile, clothing and leather.

Agrarian

Arts and crafts

Building and civil works.

Hostel and Tourism.

IT and communications.

Personal image.

Community Services.

English B2 (I and II).

Mechanical manufacturing.

Commerce and marketing

Administration and finance.

Physical and sports activities

The best employment data since 2008

According to the data that shows the balance that offers us the past month of October, the unemployment has chained a new fall, what reduces the total number of unemployed people to 4.944, what constitutes the best data of the labor market of our municipality from December of 2008. We would have to go back in time to periods before the crisis to find similar figures.

We are, therefore, before a very good news that we have to congratulate all Lorca, because we are talking about a common work, involving public administrations, groups and social and business agents, as the main elements of a project common.

The interannual figure that marks the number registered between October 2017 and 2018 reflects a decrease in unemployment of 136 people, confirming that the evolution of the trend continues to be favorable for all.

In terms of employment we have to maintain our level of demand very high, erasing any type of conformism, since we must continue working so that unemployment continues to fall;

every unemployed person deserves to find a job that fits their profile and all administrations have to continue to have anti-unemployment policies as a high priority.

In fact from the Department of Local Development we continue working with the same intensity during the summer and preparing new initiatives that we will develop from September to professionally train, train and expand the employability of hundreds of Lorca.
