The PSOE goes a step further and takes a motion for the rest of the political forces to join their requests and endorse a large agreement with which to mark the irrevocable lines to claim, govern who governs, that the arrival of the AVE must be made according to the social and urban reality of the city.

"Lorca is not going to renounce the integral burial of the AVE along the 4.3 kilometers needed to not split the city in two"

The Spokesman of the PSOE, Diego José Mateos has announced that his party will propose in the next Plenary a great agreement, with the rest of political forces with municipal representation, to put "black on white" through a plenary agreement, the "irrevocable lines" at the time of claiming the improvements in railway matter that our municipality needs.

"Faced with partisan politics, I claim another way of doing politics: agreement, unity and joining forces, and even more so when what is at stake is something so important for the city as is the future integration of the railway, key piece of the territorial structure and the economic and social fabric of the municipality, "says the leader of the PSOE.

"Infrastructures must serve to bring people closer together and improve their lives, not to create new problems for them," says Mateos.

For this reason, Diego José Mateos proposes to the rest of the forces an agreement in railway matter with a threefold objective: join forces to get the AVE to reach Lorca and do it in an underground way along the 4.3 kilometers needed to avoid punishing to any neighborhood;

Support the demands of the residents of "Villaespesa Soterrada" so that the future railway platform does not cause problems for these families, and of course the much-needed modernization of the Cercanías line.

We want the next plenary session to materialize, for the first time, a great agreement for the Lorca City Council, as an institution, to request the Ministry of Development to review and modify the information study for the integration of the AVE as it passes through the city.

"The City of Lorca has to make clear, and has to do regardless of who governs, that the roads of the future rail corridor run underground in the urban area of ​​Lorca, for 4.3 km, including the slums of Apolonia , Avenida Europa and San Diego.

Similarly, the PSOE wants the rest of the political forces to join the demands of the Villaespesa Soterrada platform, in turn requesting the Ministry to replace the overpasses as it passes through the districts of La Hoya and Tercia, within the route of the AVE in the stretch, Sangonera / Lorca, by underpasses, as well as the elimination of the passage of the Olmillos attending in any case the requests of the Platform.

At the same time, Mateos stressed that, in something so important for these families, "the words have to be translated into deeds" and for that, he assures, "it is necessary that the Mayor's commitment" to cover the maintenance of the underpasses requested to the Ministry of Development as well as the necessary facilities to pump the waters that could be retained when episodes of precipitation occur "not only from mouthpiece, but to turn black on white and materialize in a Plenary agreement".

The PSOE will take advantage of this Plenary, in addition, to re-request the necessary modernization of the train line Murcia-Lorca-Águilas, whose improvement works, he assures, must be inalienable, and in a manner accompanied by the railway integration in the city.

"For that reason we have been demanding the modernization of the Cercanías service for years, the same ones that we have been suffering in the city a completely third-world service, which Lorca does not deserve", he assures.

In addition to the necessary improvements, they demand that during the future works for the integration of the railroad in the city, the means necessary to guarantee the communications are authorized, in advance, as long as these works of adaptation and construction of the future ways.
