Mateos has stated that, to this day, there are many municipal sports facilities that present important deficiencies in terms of the lighting system, fundamentally, the Alfonso Embarre, Los Tollos, Juan Martínez 'Casuco' football fields, the 82 World Cup, the poliderpotivo of La Torrecilla, used daily by the different base football schools at night, as well as the rest of the sports facilities of the districts of Lorca.

The spokesman of the PSOE has stressed that since the remodeling of Juan Carlos I "these bulbs are no longer needed for extraordinary lighting" that was placed in front of the celebration, in the main artery of the city, events such as biblical-passional parades of the Holy Week of Lorca, San Clemente or Kings, so it ensures that it is "meaningless" that these are stored and deteriorating while there are municipal facilities that require an improvement in lighting.

Diego José Mateos says that the clubs and individuals who use the various sports facilities scattered throughout the municipality of Lorca have long demanded an improvement in lighting, but to date it has not been attended by the Lorca City Council, under the excuse that "it is impossible for economic reasons".

According to Mateos, this is an action that "does not involve a high cost and can be made with the resources available to the City of Lorca through municipal technical services, so" the cost can no longer be an excuse, "he emphasizes.

Therefore, Mateos has proposed to the City of Lorca that as soon as possible and prior adaptations as necessary, proceed to the installation of these bulbs in the fields in need of improvements in terms of lighting.

The Socialist spokesman has also ensured that, if not done before May, Lorca clubs will have this improvement after taking office as mayor after the municipal elections of 2019.
