Citizen collaboration
The investigation began last summer, when the Civil Guard, thanks to citizen collaboration, was aware of the existence of a supposed family clan dedicated, almost exclusively, to the cultivation of marijuana in a farm in Lorca.
La Benemérita located the property, an old farmhouse located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the hamlet of Almendricos lorquina, which had been 'armored' with the installation of a dense perimeter fence and a thick wooded.
In addition, one of the members of the criminal group, now dismantled, performed surveillance tasks in the vicinity to detect the presence of outsiders and the researchers themselves.
Due to this strong vigilance and the impossibility of checking what was hidden in the room, the Civil Guard requested judicial authorization for the use of aerial surveillance means.
Recently, once the necessary information has been obtained, the Benemérita has requested the corresponding court order for entry and registration.
Four greenhouses for the intensive cultivation of marijuana
The registration has resulted in the discovery of four dwellings for the intensive cultivation of marijuana plants.
Two of them, of great dimensions, had been camouflaged with the appearance of horticultural greenhouses.
The other two had been built with metal plates and inside they had a work area to defoliate and pack the plants.
The bagged buds were stored in the house.

According to the investigation, it is a criminal group, formed by the members of a family settled in Lorca that, in a hierarchical way, distributed the different criminal tasks, from the habilitation of the greenhouses, the care and the collection of the plants, even the surveillance of the farm.
It is estimated that the abundant material seized was going to be used in the renovation of the facilities.
Those arrested, drugs and effects seized, as well as the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Lorca.
One of the detainees has been remanded in custody.
