The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, presented this morning with the General Director of Sports of the Autonomous Community, Alonso Gómez López, and the delegate of the newspaper La Verdad in Lorca, Pilar Wals, the VI San Silvestre "City of Lorca", organized by the Department of Sports of Lorca and the newspaper La Verdad.
The mayor of Lorca has announced that "this year, the VI edition of the San Silvestre will be for the benefit of D'GENES, Association of Rare Diseases, through the #Positos del #retoyosipuedo Project," and thanked the collaboration of "the volunteers of the #retoyosipuedo and the Athletics Club Puertas Lorca, as well as the Local Police, Spanish Red Cross and the Department of Emergencies of the City of Lorca.
The test is sponsored by the Autonomous Community, KIA, CaixaBank and the solar photovoltaic company X-ELIO
Fulgencio Gil once again highlighted "the decided commitment of the newspaper La Verdad by Lorca, which once again forms part of the organization of this race, thus completing a luxury team, with all the other collaborators".
In this sense the mayor said that "we will say goodbye to 2018 exercising and having fun, while we revitalize the historic center of Lorca," encouraging everyone to participate in this event "in which once again sport and solidarity are given the hand to spend a fun morning ".
The General Director of Sports of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Alonso Gómez López, said that "it is a satisfaction that for the second consecutive year the Regional Government is one of the main sponsors of this San Silvestre already consolidated in the city of Lorca, which reaches its sixth edition, is another example of our strong commitment to support sport and, in this case, the organization of sporting events in the Region of Murcia.
In addition, "it is not an eminently sporting event, but it becomes a fun day for many families who participate in this test to close the year sportingly".
The test will take place, as it has been traditional, on the last day of the year, Monday, December 31, this year returning to the afternoon schedule, so from 5:00 pm it will take the exit from Lope Gisbert Street, at the height of the Plaza de Calderón, where the goal will also be located.
Different races will be held for the categories of absolute, petates, juvenile / infant and prebenjamín and benjamín.
The first race to be held will be the absolute one, in which riders from cadets to veterans will participate over a distance of 5,500 meters.
It will leave from Lope Gisbert Street at the height of the Plaza de Calderón, Prince Alfonso, Santa Paula, Óvalo, Avda. Portugal, Nogalte, Corredera, Juan de Toledo, Lope Gisbert, Plaza de Calderón (1st round), Prince Alfonso, Santa Paula, Óvalo, Jerónimo Santa Fé, Redonda San José, Pérez Casas, Nogalte, Corredera, C / Álamo, Plaza España, Santiago Street, Marsilla, Ibreño Square, Gigante Street, La Merced, Ctra. Parroquia, La Alberca Bridge, Santo Domingo , Lope Gisbert, Plaza Calderón (Meta).
The race course of the petates category will be from San Mateo to Plaza de Calderón, with a distance of 100 meters.
The fry / children will have to go around a circuit of 1,500 meters, from Plaza de Calderón, to visit Cuesta de San Francisco, Corredera, Álamo, Plaza Bordadora, Lope Gisbert and Plaza de Calderón.
Finally, the fourth race, that of prebenjamines and benjamines, will run through Plaza de Calderón, Cuesta de San Francisco, Corredera, Álamo, Plaza Bordadora, Lope Gisbert and Plaza de Calderón, completing an approximate distance of 750 meters.
The cost of the registration will be € 5 for the categories of cadets to veterans, being free for the rest categories.

There will be T-shirts for all the participants, in addition to the prizes for the three best costumes and the three best groups in disguise (minimum 4 people).
Trophies will be awarded for the top three finishers in each category, as well as a special prize for the top three of the overall male and female overall classification.
