IU Lorca demands the dissolution of the Consortium of Navy of Cope and the fulfillment of the sentence of the TSJ to the City council of Lorca (18/01/2019)

Pedro Sosa and Gloria Martín explained that this entity is not subject to audits since 2016, the year in which the company in charge of its audit revealed limitations on the scope of its work, as well as numerous accounting and regulatory breaches, including the annual accounts corresponding to that exercise "were not even approved by the Board of Directors of the Consortium", something that also happened in 2015

The councilors of United Left in the City council of Lorca, Pedro Sosa and Gloria Martin, have requested explanations on the situation in which it is at the moment the Consortium of Navy of Cope, whose dissolution was announced in March of 2011 by the team of Municipal Government from PP

However, during all this time the consortium has not only remained in the inventory of the public sector of the Autonomous Community, but this week the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia has published its new statutes that the regional government approved last 6 of July.

The Cope Marine Consortium has among its objectives the "promotion, development, management and execution of the Marina de Cope Regional Performance (AIR)", despite the fact that it is annulled "by a final judicial decision", Sosa recalled. Martin.

In 2013, a ruling of the Superior Court of Justice confirmed the environmental protection of Calnegre-Cope, and annulled the urbanization procedures promoted by the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the Municipalities of Águilas and Lorca.

In the same way, another judgment of the TSJ of 2016 annulled the modification of the General Urban Planning Plans of both municipalities to adapt to an AIR "that no longer exists".

However, today, these municipalities have not canceled the adaptation of their general plans of urban planning to accommodate a project "knocked down by Justice", nor the regional government has dissolved the consortium, on which weigh "many shades".

The editors of IU wondered how the fact that the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, who is born vice president of the Consortium and also "a man of the world of law" is in default to abide by a court ruling. "Martín recalled that In addition to Gil, the Mayor of Águilas, María del Carmen Moreno (PSOE) is also vice president, and the head of this entity is the Minister of Tourism of the regional government, Miriam Guardiola.

Gloria Martín has also explained that this entity is not subject to audits since 2016, the year in which the company in charge of its audit revealed limitations on the scope of its work, as well as numerous accounting and regulatory breaches, including that the annual accounts corresponding to that exercise "were not even approved by the Consortium's Board of Directors", something that also happened in 2015.

In 2014, the auditing company stated that the Annual Accounts corresponding to that year were not made available, so the audit could not be carried out.

There are also no inspections between 2005 and 2009. And in 2010 and 2011 the audit teams could not express an opinion on the General Account because the consortium was not provided with the necessary accounting information, in breach of the provisions of the Order of the Ministry of Economy and the Treasury that regulates the rendering of accounts of the entities, companies, foundations and consortia of the Regional Public Sector.
