Cazalla Intercultural develops a global education project in Lorca with the participation of 24 representatives from Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Austria, Slovenia and Lithuania (23/01/2019)

The project "Global Education starts in your town", which has the collaboration of the City Council and the CARM, aims to raise awareness on global issues focused on 3 objectives of sustainable development: gender equality, sustainable cities and communities and responsible production and consumption

The Councilor for Youth of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, the General Director of Youth of the Autonomous Community, Francisco Sanchez, and a representative of Cazalla Intercultural, Tea Stanic, participated this morning in a project developed by this youth entity Lorca that counts with a duration of three years and is funded by the Europe Aid program of the European Commission.

Agustín Llamas explained that "Cazalla Intercultural has organized from 23 to 24 January in Lorca the project" Global Education begins in your town "(Global education goes local), in which 24 representatives from Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Austria, Slovenia and Lithuania, which is coordinated by the Intercultural Cazalla Association and has the collaboration of the General Directorate of Youth of the Region of Murcia and the Youth Council of Lorca.

Councilman Youth has noted that "in the past months took place in the Region of Murcia numerous activities framed in the same project and developed in San Javier, San Pedro de Pinatar, Pliego, Ulea, Blanca, Mazarrón, Cehegín, Calasparra and Bullas, all with the same objective: to raise awareness among these localities on global issues focused on 3 of the 17 sustainable development objectives: gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, and finally, responsible production and consumption. the localities learned about the global challenges and the impact they have on our society and reflected on how to take an active role in finding and proposing improvement solutions at the local level ".

Llamas has indicated that "during the event that takes place in our city we will share experiences, challenges and the impact of actions in the other countries that have gone through the same process." In this international seminar, the partners of the 6 participating countries will also meet to share tools they used to raise awareness about global issues and reflect on how to continue working more effectively to involve more people in the next phases of the project and in promoting sustainable development goals. "

The Edil de Juventud wanted to "congratulate Cazalla Intercultural for the work they do in all the projects they carry out in our city, particularly in this one that will allow new generations to learn about aspects that are characteristic of today's society. they consolidate as a reference organization at the international level for the study of youth from a global framework in which intercultural collaboration allows us to grow as a better society ".
