The Popular Party votes against the PSOE proposal to connect Lorca 'via bus' with the international airport of Corvera (28/01/2019)

"Every time they are given a choice between defending the interests of their party or defending the interests of Lorca they always do the same: today they have once again preferred to support López Miras' decision, to exclude Lorca from bus lines with Corvera, instead of claiming that necessary connection to put the city of the Sun on the tourist map of the Region "

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, David Romera has regretted that the Mayor and his governing team of the Popular Party "rejected" making use of its absolute majority PSOE request to claim the Autonomous Community the establishment of a line of bus that connects Lorca with the international airport of Corvera, after the Regional Government excluded Lorca not contemplating this destination among the four lines enabled.

David Romera has reproached the Mayor that "whenever they are given a choice between defending their party or defending the interests of Lorca, the Mayor and the PP Lorca are clear: they prefer to support their party, even at the expense of to punish their neighbors. "

"Today they had the opportunity to support this request of common sense, with which we proposed to place Lorca among the tourist destinations of the region, and the PP has preferred to support the decision of the Regional Government of Lopez Miras to leave out the city of the Sun "

David Romera has said that the PP should look at that "continuously punish" the city of the Sun, because with their policies want to make Lorca a second-rate tourist destination, when he insists "we have the necessary wicker to be a quality tourist destination , of first order, of reference at national and international level ".

From the PSOE Lorca insist that with decisions like this, not to establish a direct connection between Lorca and the international airport, what the Regional Government is doing is to recognize that "at present, Lorca is not attractive to tourists."

"If the PP considered Lorca as a tourist destination, or if at least had a commitment to work to achieve it, it is clear that Lorca would have been from the minute one between the established lines, and not outside."

From the PSOE lorquino, says David Romera, "we are clear that the logical, common sense is that Lorca is recognized as a tourist destination, as is Murcia, Cartagena and the Mar Menor, despite the opposition of the Popular Party" .

"It is not understandable that the PP insists on denying us this connection with the regional airport, when for example, our city does have a bus connection with the Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez airport," the mayor pointed out.

"If it is possible to sell combined tickets for plane and bus between Lorca and T4 Madrid airport, it is hard to understand that the Popular Party refuses to connect Lorca with the international airport of Corvera, which for more reason, we have paid all the murcianos, including the lorquinos ".
